WizKids will publish the forthcoming Dungeons & Dragons board game, according to a recent preorder sell sheet. Referred to as “D&D Adventure System Game #4,” this project will follow in the tracks of previous D&D board games: Castle Ravenloft, The Wrath Ashardalon, and The Legend of Drizzt (shown at right). Note that D&D parent company Wizards of the Cost will be designing and developing the game. According to IcV2:
“The box will include 40 figures, 8 Hero cards, 4 Villain cards, 200 cards, 55 interlocking tiles, 4 double-sized interlocking tiles, 168 tokens, a 20-sided die, an adventure book and a rulebook. The game is for 1-5 players, ages 14 and up and plays in an hour. MSRP is $64.99.”
I love the D&D board games. Of the three available now, Legend of Drizzt is the way to go. If you play all three you can watch some bugs get worked out. By the time you get to Drizzt, you’ve got a solid game. In fact, it was these games that got my son into gaming. I’m quite eager to see what’s next.
Look for the game to hit shelves on March 16, 2015.
