   Had high expectations for these Revolutionary War chess pieces & greatly disappointed. On the left is one of pieces from a Richard the Lion-heart vs. Saladin set & on the right is the George Washington from this set. Not even close! Overpriced for such small pieces & not very well made. We’re returning these chess pieces for a refund tomorrow.

   I am pleased with the quality of the pieces I was a little worried because of some of the reviews but I am very satisfied. The pieces are level and it even has soft pads on the bottom of all the pieces, and love the rustic paint job.

   I ordered this set for my grandson who is attending a military academy in Virginia thinking that it would combine his two interests – chess and American Colonial history. I was surprised that the pieces are so small, but otherwise, it is a fun set. It does not come with a board so I will purchase that separately.
