This is a terrible game. I bought it for my girlfriend who loves The Hunger Games and is an avid board game player. We both agreed that game system is poorly designed and the game components are poorly made from cheap materials. It’s a mess with a Hunger Games theme bolted on top.

Gave this as a gift to my nephew who is a big fan – he and my daughter actually gave up on it because the directions are very complicated. I read them, and if they followed what I said, they were able to understand what to do, but it’s not a game that you can get out and start playing right away. It looks quite good, but the complex directions turned them off. My nephew and daughter are avid readers, but are not willing to put in the time to work out the game – so the reward was not worth the effort to them. You’ll have to know your child before purchasing.

Considering the price of this game the quality of the contents is extremely poor.
The game itself is virtually impossible to follow and needs the the game rules at all
times to assist players in attemting to follow this very INANE board game.
There must be a very high mark up on this useless collection of cardboard cards and counters.
Myself and children were extremely disappointed at htis feeble game.
DO NOT BUY THIS OVER PRICED GAME, you will be very disappointed.

First time we played, we almost died of nerves once the time came for the reaping. I started the speech: “Welcome, welcome. The time has come to select one courageous young man and woman for the honor of representing District 12 in the annual Hunger Games! May the odds be EVER in your favor!” I turned over the first card and the blue player yelled when her card came out XD When we played again, yellow got chosen and his expression was one of stress as he pictured everything that would happen to him in the Games (though I must say he had it coming since he got so much tesserae that there was barely any entries from the other players). This game really puts you in the middle of daily life in District 12 and is the best immersion tool for those that want to feel closer to their reality…
