   This is an absolutely beautiful chess board. The base is phenomenal. It bends slightly if put on an uneven surface so as to make sure that the glass remains stable and flat against the base posts. In other words, the posts will rise or lower a little so you always have an even stable board to play on.

   Then there are the pieces. These are incredible. The level of detail is fantastic. my kids and I can stare at them all day. The weight of each piece is great. Love the pieces.

   My only concern is the painted glass board. It seems that over time, the white squares may get scratched. With 3 little ones learning to play, this is a good possibility for me but that’s my issue not yours. I do wish the felt on the bottom of the pieces was a little bit bigger in circumference to reduce the metal on glass issues.

   I highly recommended the Dragon Chess Set. It is awesome.

   This was a gift for my 11 year old son. He’s autistic and has very few interests. As soon as this came in he was all over it. It is absolutely beautiful. The craftsmanship of the board and the pieces is absolutely stunning!! All my son has talked about is wanting to play with it. He loves it!! The board is very heavy but that’s to be expected. The glass fits perfectly on top and all the pieces have felt on the bottom to prevent scratching the glass. You will defiantly get more then your money’s worth with this. The product is eye catching and a definite conversation piece. Was shipped extremely well. It was shipped using bubble wrap, Styrofoam and several card board boxes. The pieces were in a foam form fitting package. If I could give more then 5 stars to the chess set and the seller I would. Exceptional quality on both!!! Would recommend to any and everyone.

   This was heavier than I expected. That is due to the really great quality of the pieces and the glass board. The pieces are finely detailed and there are differences between the pieces of one colour and the other, which makes it interesting. I bought this as a Christmas present for my son-in-law and he was really happy with it.

   Very beautiful chess set that was higher quality than expected. The pieces and board are very heavy and gorgeously crafted. Bought as a gift and he loved it. The chess pieces were a little confusing to figure out what was what lol but the detail in it is awesome. Exceeded my expectations. Looks better and bigger than in the picture.

   Be wary when buying this item. The price suggests a quality product. I unboxed it and one of the kings was not properly identified. I thought it was an extra rook. Then a bishop fell off the table and immediately broke in half. The metal figures are fragile as glass be careful with them. I was also disappointed that there was no type of strogare for the game pieces. You you figure with a chess set this expensive it would hold up to every day situations. The gold figure is supposed to be the king which doesn’t seem clearly identifiable. The bishop of the left is the one that broke.

   Absolutely amazing! I totally love it.

   I bought this as a present for my fiance, all his friends were drooling over it on his birthday.

   The reviews made me quite nervous about the equality of the chess board but I had nothing to worry about. the chess pieces feel great in your hand and are quite heavy. They are very detailed and a really cool fact: both sets are different, they both have their own accents which makes them really unique. The board adjusts itself to uneven surfaces and even the battlefield looks great.

   Recommendations: Even for grown ups this is still an amazing product, especially when they are still a little bit of a child at heart. If you prefer a traditional chess board don’t get it, you will think it’s too childish and won’t like it. Any one else (especially those who love dragons) will absolutely love this chess board!

    Was nervous about this purchase. It turned out to be better than I had expected. The dragons are a nice silver color and bronze/gold color with good detail. The bottoms are felt so they slide nicely and do not scratch the playing surface. These are nice heavy pieces. The stand that they set on is pretty nice. It would be super nice if it were actually more of a stone rather than resin. However, there is a lot of detail in it and it really is a fun piece. It definitely adds to the dragon theme of the chess set. The dragon chess pieces are also extremely detailed with a good bit of heft. As a new and old player (new to the game with failing older eyes) the pieces are fun but my inexperience with the pieces makes them a bit difficult to determine which piece is which. Regular chess set pieces are extremely clear in their differences. Apparently all dragons look the same to me, lol. A better player would not have this issue though. This would not stop me from purchasing this item again as a gift. It is a beautiful set. I am uploading a close up of the pieces that I snagged from online so that you can see what I am referring to. The playing surface is glass. Smooth on one side and the squares etched on the other. It is about 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick. It is sturdy but the pieces are rather heavy and might crack it if they get tipped over. I would say to be sure this is setting on a stable table. The entire things is quite heavy as well. It is a good quality chess set and for chess players looking for a fantasy board, it is a good gift quality set. This is displayed on a pub table which is also part of an anniversary gift for my husband. See my reviews if you want to know which pub table I got for this. It looks very, very nice. I am confident that he will like this even more than I do. As an aside, my two sons are also anxious to play with this set after their dad gets it. I am told by all of the males in the household that “dragons are always more fun! DUH!!” Update: after husband received the gift He loves it. The kids love it. It is going to become the centerpiece in our man cave/home pub area. It was fun to see him receive this and I would not hesitate to recommend it as a gift for others.

    So this is a cute idea in theory for those dragon and chivalrous people…. but beware that you are going to open this and initially be impressed, until you set up the board. It is hard to tell your king from your queen because they look the same, aside from the slight height difference. THEN… you will read that the board that the glass props onto is moldable? What? Yes. If you place this EVER on an uneven surface, it will mold to that surface? Then this board comes without a container to hold it in, so u have to purchase a plastic container that holds weapons so that I can store the board and have Styrofoam in it to separate the pieces from my glass chess board. Would not recommend.
