I have a more compact board too, and it would probably be good for travel. This board has a nice cloth bag to put it in for protection, so I do intend to take it on road trips, but is is a bit heavy to lug around airports probably. It is well made, lined with felt and has room for several decks of cards or whatever inside.

This 4-track Cribbage board went beyond my expectations! Very well made! Pins fit as they should! Beautiful smooth edges. I’m a retire designer so I’m kinda picky. If you play Cribbage and love the game, invite the neighbors over and enjoy! The red velvet storage bag is a beauty also. There are no instructions so it’s for us seasoned players. However, you can get instruction online from Hoyle and others. GBYD

The feedback from the recipient was all positives! Their group played on a smaller travel board and this with the four rows was much more suited to their home games. The board may be considered large for packing for travel in a suitcase, but for taking with to someone’s home for gameplay it was noted to be great and the carry bag makes it much easier

The board is quite beautiful however I have two complaints with craftmanship.
1) In the listing you failed to mention that the peg holes are not the standard 1/8 in. that other cribbage boards are so all my fancy pegs I have used for years in all the other boards I have won’t fit. The holes appear to be 5/64 in. pegs that came with it however work.
2) When the pegs that came with it are in the peg storage that is in the center of the storage area you can’t close the lid.
3) Very disappointed I would say that if you don’t plan on using your fancy pegs and you don’t mind storing the pegs that came with it in something other than the provided storage bar in the center of the storage area then I’m sure you will be very pleased with the board. If it didn’t have the 2 discrepancies listed above, I would have rated it a 5 star plus.
