   I have been using a backgammon board to play “Acey Docey” on ever since I left the Navy 30 years ago. I taught both my son and daughter to play that game on a board I purchased about that time in my life. Now I am teaching my grandchildren the same game and thought it would be great to get them one of their own to play it at home. I never expected these boards to be of the same high quality as the one I bought 30 years ago. I was very happy to find them to be almost identical to mine. I am SO excited and can’t wait to see the faces of my grandchildren when they have an Acey Docey board lke Memaw’s! Love it!

   If you haven’t played Backgammon, you should! This is a classic, two-player game and a lot of fun. This set looks gorgeous. My only two slight issues are:
   1. the hinges make it so the case can’t stand up like a briefcase when it’s closed. It must lie on its side.
   2. the points on the playing surface are raised rather than flush with the felt so sometimes the pieces don’t slide as easily as I’d like.

   Altogether though, this is a wonderful set and has been very fun for my wife and me to play while having a chat after the kids are asleep.

   Was looking for ease of use–found this product to be good quality. The proportions are nice–stones fit evenly on the points even at the margins. The materials and assembly of the product are both very good. The portability is good, and the latching hardware is stout enough. The look of this product is sharp. You won’t be disappointed by the price, especially when you handle the product.

   Very Nice set made very well . As good as a national toy store sells but less expensive and not as big. With a set like this you could pay a bit more. What i mean is it is good quality . To think about how it is sewn you would think the markers would catch on the points when sliding them. I had two boards made with cloth and that was never a problem. If you read a review about it it may have been faulty or someone reviewing because of thinking about it and not actually owning one. These colors are nice so I paid a few more dollars than the brown tone one on boardgamesweekly.com. I am glad I did. I had one made like this that lasted me 10 years . I gave it away to use a wooden one but I like the look and feel of these a bit better. The wooden ones are not made with particle board and covered that is why they are more expensive. But this is a very good quality board and keeping it in the box it comes with Like a game is meant to be , after use will keep the cover new looking for a very long time.

   Game came in a very beat up box that did not appear anywhere close to “like new”. The game itself is crushed in on one side which causes part of the game board to wrinkle up. I’m very disappointed that this was being sold as a like new item. Total ripoff.

   I was looking for something durable enough that I could take it to play in coffee shops and such, without all the frills of the more expensive boards. This backgammon game is just that. The game is made with a plasticy fake leather and fairly low quality felt, but for the price is excellent.

   Pros:
   -game is good size
   -fairly sturdy construction
   -nice, simple asthetic
   -good quality for the price

   Cons:
   -dice are printed poorly on my set (dots are smeared)
   -made with plasticy material and low quality felt
   -no extra pieces (so don’t lose any!)

   I bought this Backgammon set along with a cribbage board for my son’s 40th birthday. This is a beautiful set. I was totally surprised at how nice it was. My husband bought a set last year to replace the one we had for 30 years and he paid a lot more than I did for this one and this Backgammon set is so much nicer than the one he bought. The markings are the perfect size and they are very well stitched. The color is very nice and would be pleasing for both male and female. The dice are the right size and the makings on the dice are well made. The case is nicely patted. I can’t say enough good things about this board. If you buy it you won’t be disappointed!!

    The pips are poorly sewn onto the board making it quite difficult to slide the stones from one position to another. They must be lifted over the loose elevated edges of the pips. I would not purchase again.
