   Very well designed and has great production quality. The instructions are very clear and have a helpful section for small playing details. It is heavily strategy based, as even the probability of getting a certain unit is calculated during gameplay. Don’t buy if you don’t like strategy. Every game is different and forces you to craft a new strategy each time. Awesome game

   This is a great game for adults and kids alike. 2-4 player is available but 4 player is the way to go. The poker chip style pieces are amazing and heavy duty, they give the game the much more tactile feel. The rules are very well balanced and while easy to play, every game requires new strategy due to the card distribution for each draw. I also think it’s great for kids to get introduced to war gaming and prepares them for Undaunted, arguably the best war game ever made. Took this on a business trip for 2 weeks and we played constantly. Buy it now!

   Easy 2 player game with simple strategy. Only downside was the shipping. It was just wrapped in cellophane with a shipping label slapped on. That being said, the box corners got dented and damaged in shipping. I needed it so I didn’t have time to return it and ask for a new one but I am still sad every time I see the box. Please put it in a box to ship!!!

   I bought this on a whim when it was on sale having never heard of it. I found the game to be terrific. It’s chess-like in its simplicity, but with enough thematic touches to make it really enjoyable for any type of player. It really shines as a two-player experience. Four players feels a bit tacked on, though it does have a Tennis doubles sort of affect on the size of the board.

   If you like war games and want something simple to learn, definitely pick this one up. It’s a really unique box with lots of replay value.

   Warchest is a little like chess, with pieces that move in much more interesting ways, and with some randomness tossed in. The components are very nice, with the chips having good weight to them, and the art is sharp and clear. There are a couple of design quirks that I think should have been fixed before shipping to the public though: 1) When units are sitting on control point hexes, you can no longer tell it’s a control point hex because the icon is covered. This could have been easily fixed by printing the board with a different colored border on the control point hexes. 2) Control tokens are round and hidden when under a unit. You have to pick up units that are in play to look under them and see whose control token is under the unit. This could have easily been fixed by supplying hexagonal shaped control tokens that filled the hexes on the board rather than small round tokens. Overall an excellent game, but in need of a reprint with the above fixes.

   This is a great “abstract” board game that is relatively simple to learn but is surprisingly deep in terms of the large number of unique units and varied teams that can be assembled. The game creators did a fantastic job of balancing the strengths and weaknesses of each unit’s special tactic. A lot of cat and mouse, ebbs and flow to the gameplay as you get accustomed to it. Also the build quality is top-notch: the box has a wraparound magnetic closure and the coins are like high quality poker chips in their size and weight. Very satisfying to use

    This is a great game. Possibly a new classic. It’s well balance and the art and production quality is top notch. Sadly I was disappointed that my box came with a missing royal coin. My box includes 3 crow coins and 1 wolf coin. There should be 2 of each. In the photo you will notice the chip Im holding over the mirror is the initiative marker and should not to be confused with the royal coins. The only reason I can’t give this game 5 stars is because my box came with a missing piece.

    A great abstract game. Easy to learn and teach it’s just as fun with 2 to 4 players. I personally find 4 players more fun then 2.

    Even though the game is easy to learn the game has a lot of strategy with area control and the important tactics thats unique to every unit.

    You’re also bag building with all your chips and managing what you want to recruit e.g. whether you want more actions or to bolster your units on the board.
