   We loved Aeon’s end before getting this. Initially, I wasn’t sure we were going to like this as much as the regular game, but we had a great time and starting looking forward to each chapter the more we played. We lost once and almost lost several other times, so it was challenging, and very important to work as a team.

   I don’t want to spoil anything, but one twist in particular, made us all go, ‘Best Game Ever’, lol.

   I bought this game to give Aeons End another shot. I bought the game originally when I was looking into snagging a few solo games to enjoy and a lot of people I talked to recommended Aeons End. I love deck builders so I thought I would instantly love it… and then I played it. I hated it. I thought the not shuffling of the deck wasn’t interesting and didn’t provide much additional strategy to separate the game from other deck builders in the same vein like Sentinels of the Multiverse to make it interesting. To date it is the only game I’ve sold out of my collection of roughly 200 and I have some real stinkers in there. It just let me down that much.

   After some time I wanted to give the series another shot and had been hearing that the legacy version, a mechanic I greatly enjoy, was a great way to get into the series, possibly the new go to rather than the base game. So I bought it and gave it a shot and I gotta admit I thoroughly enjoyed it. The Story it weaves makes it interesting and the slow introduction to the mechanics makes it very accessible. It made me regret selling my base game copy.

   Legacy style games are booming and for good reason. Aeons End Legacy is a fantastic addition to a growing pool of games. Here’s why my gaming group loved this game:

   1) The game mechanics and story content is clearly very well thought out making for a enjoyable experience! For a legacy game this is hugely important because they are commitments. Nobody wants to feel chained to a game that they are not enjoying.

   2) The average night of gaming lasts around 2-2.5 hours. Which our group has found it the perfect length. At the end of the night you are not feeling tired or simply sitting there wanting the game to just end already. Instead you feel satisfied and look forward to continuing the story the next time.

   3) Finally, shipping was fast. The product was in great condition, and the price was excellent.

   This game is just fantastic. The story is very predictable, but the gameplay is phenomenal. Legacy introduces you to the aspects of the game slowly while giving you an opportunity to create an entire character on your own that is unique from any other Aeons End version. This is a great game to add to any board game collection. And the coop aspect of it makes it more of a team building and bonding experience unlike any competitive conventional “Family” board game.

   Aeon’s End: Legacy is an incredibly fun game. Whether you play tons of games, or barely any at all, this game is 100% enjoyable. There aren’t too many mechanics, and the Legacy version of the game has a great pace. It keeps you engaged, and working together as a team. There are so many ways to play and build your character, the artwork is gorgeous, and the team work makes this game awesome. Whether you want to be a destructive tank, or a meditative supporter, you can really get creative with this one. SO MUCH FUN! I can’t wait until the newer stuff comes out!

   Play this with my husband since our Christmas tradition now is to play a legacy game. I really enjoyed it. While I had already played the base game, I found that the way the legacy game was designed taught me new strategies.
   One advantage to Aeons End is that with each player having a unique deck it prevents one of the common pitfalls of cooperative gaming; when the bossy player tells all the other players what to do. I can say that because I’m the bossy player. This game has made me a better gamer by trusting ans respecting the decisions of the other players.
   As for a legacy version it had great story and hit some nice emotional notes.
   I loved it!

   I initially bought this item as an “used” or “open box”… not quite sure which but I read in the description that the box had damage on the outside but everything inside was new and not opened and ALL there. It was none of those things. It’s a narrative legacy game, so it’s important that the cards are in order, they weren’t. I was willing to go through all of them but then some hidden components in sealed envelopes and boxes were missing too. It was just disappointing that boardgamesweekly.com labels and describes an item without even looking at it. Moral of the story, dont buy boardgamesweekly.com’s used or open box items.

    I had heard high praise for this game, but it has fallen flat so far for me. We have played through 4 games, with only 3 to go, so admittedly we are not even done, but nobody really wants to finish it to completion. As pricy as this game was, I didn’t think it was good enough to get, and there is certainly no way I am going to get the original base game.

    My best friend and I played this over a year and ROCKED it! So much fun. Neither of us had played regular Aeon’s End before, so it was a new experience for both of us.
    I had to watch several videos to learn how to play the game, it was not easy to learn from the instructions. But I love board games and deck-building games and this checked all the boxes. It was worth the time to learn to play.
    We just finished it and I would totally recommend this game for anyone who likes Legacy games, board games, and/or deck-building games. Really great features and fun play-style. Great game!

    This game was such an unexpected success for us that we are looking at continuing our defense of Gravehold and playing Breach Mages once again in some of the other Aeon’s End games. We went into this with zero knowledge of the universe, other than its popularity, and hoped the Legacy version would be a great starting point for us, I am happy to say it did not disappoint in that aspect. We were taken in by that big looming black box from the moment it arrived and each game we have played has been filled with surprises and interesting twists. I think the most important thing I can expand on without going into spoilers is to say what a perfect start into these games the legacy version is. It took us about 2 months to go through everything included, and that is with usually doing one of the included chapters each weekend, there were weekends we skipped and others where we doubled up and played multiples in a day. My wife and I had so much fun together with this and never once felt lost or confused about the game play or rules. Things were introduced slowly, and gradually ramped up as we progressed through the very user friendly mechanics of the rulebook. We got to customize parts of our game the way we liked which gave us such a feeling of immersion into the world that it wasn’t hard to imagine ourselves as these brave Breach Mages fighting monsters in another world. There was enough flowing narrative story between all the chapters to explain this new world do us, and we found ourselves always wanting to know what we would learn and encounter next. So if anyone is considering this as a great 2 player game and you’ve never played Aeon’s End before you can stop reading now. It works great, is hours of fun, is easy to understand, and will present an amazing cooperative experience for you to explore a world of magic and powerful enemies. For those not familiar I’ll mention a tiny bit about the game mechanics since I don’t want to spoil anything. This game is cooperative, so of course you’ll be working together to achieve your goals as your proceed. We played at 2 players but I’m excited to buy the recharge pack to start another round of this with 4 of us playing together and creating a unique game. It is also a legacy game which just means that you will make changes to your characters and the game as your progress. My character will be unique compared to yours as the choices we make will be different. This is a wonderful first experience for newcomers allowing you to develop your character and slowly transform it into something special. Lastly the deck building aspect of this game is friendly and welcoming as well; you will have certain cards that you begin each chapter with and using those you will expand or thin out your playing deck to make it effective against your current enemy. You’ll have your own favorite spells and gems that play towards the strengths of the character you’ve built, and all the cards have a tiny bit of flavor text on them that adds to the overall narrative story. We plan on playing this game another full time at 4 players with some other friends and absolutely plan to venture into the other Aeon’s End games. We’ve enjoyed it that much and would recommend this highly to anyone.

    Ich habe die Kampagne ein paar Mal gespielt (musste dafür ein paar Komponenten scannen und drucken) und hatte viele Stunden Spaß dabei, mir etwa ein Dutzend eigene Helden zu kreieren. Das Spiel ist meiner Meinung nach besser ausbalanciert als das Basisspiel, d.h. der 4-Spielermodus ist nicht mehr merklich schwerer als der 2- oder 3-Spielermodus.

    Ich bin eigentlich nicht so ein Fan von Einwegspielen, also von Spielen, bei denen man Sticker auf die Komponenten klebt, aber im Gegensatz zu Escape Room Spielen ist dieses Spiel auch dann noch eine Herausforderung, wenn man schon alles weiß, was auf einen zu kommt. Dementsprechend gibt es auch ein Reset-Pack für ca. 30€, wenn man sich nicht die Mühe machen möchte, das Verbrauchsmaterial alles einzuscannen und auszudrucken.
