My 8 year daughter received this as a gift.
It’s a great hands on board game.
Plays fast enough to keep her interested and challenging enough to keep wife and I interested without being too much for daughter. All round great family game. 5 minutes to setup. 20-30 minutes to play. good quality. lots of replay.

My daughter had requested this game for her birthday. She loves it!

I really wanted to love this game, but it’s just meh for our family. We are a huge board game family and ordered this for an ‘Around The World’ homeschool curriculum.
Pros: The art work is incredible, it’s very easy to play, it doesn’t take long and the rules are faily simple to follow.
Cons: The game play is basically just drawing magnetic tiles and filling up a habitat ball. There are some strategic elements involved, however, depending upon your turn order you might just be getting whatever tiles are left.
Overall we would play again, but not a favorite.

My husband and I play tested before introducing to our kids tonight and WOW. We might actually hide this one because we loved playing it as a couple.
It’s super quick to learn, highly replayable, and a lot of fun.
This would probably make a great birthday gift for anyone who enjoys strategy games. The creators have included two variations – one that makes the game more enjoyable for younger players and another that increases the importance if luck over strategy.
Game pieces are high quality. I was worried about the magnets peeling or creasing (from bending) when removing them from the core but they are thicker than I expected and well crafted.

This game is great if you’re after a simpler game to play. The planet sphere is an excellent idea; it can be tough to navigate at times due to needing to constantly check where you have placed the tiles. Variety of points scoring options and an abundance of animal cards keep this game fresh.
Recommend for teens and older. Adults who love a games night but want a shorter, simpler game will enjoy Planet.

My kids love this game for its creation factor. It encourages to use different senses and teaches kids about natural animal habitats. Definitely will be buying more games from Blue Orange Games.

I bought this game based on the reviews, and I was not disappointed. You can figure out after a few turns what type of habitat each player has. If an animal gets passed over 3 turns, we discard that animal and choose a new replacement from the unused cards. The kids are a little competitive about who wins, but it’s pretty fair because you work on creating your own world, and your total points are based on that. The games don’t last long and that’s nice for the adults lol. It looks complicated at first, but we found a you tube video that explained it thoroughly, and we easily figured it out after the first game. The only thing not explained in the rules is whether you can move the tiles once you’ve placed them, but we decided (just like a real world scenario) that once a tile is placed, it’s permanent. This is a nice addition to our board games.

This is such a fun little game! I’ve played it with adults, and kids as young as 8. It’s a fun little strategy game and one of my new favorites! You can flip the animal cards upside down if you’re looking for a bigger challenge as you play.

My kids, 7 & 4, love this game. Reading is not needed to play, so after a game or two with us parents, the kids can now play this on their own. It’s great that the instructions have an illustration of the setup. The world-building is engaging and component quality is great! My kids quickly began strategizing more deeply to try to win the animals they like. The game is pretty straight forward, but each turn has interesting choices. It can be tricky to count territory on a 3-D shape, but after a little practice, our 4yo was able to do so. So far we have left out the cards that reward extra points for having you collect one terrain type.

Planet is a fun game. Basically, you’re trying to create a world that has the most of your element and also attracting lots of different animals based on what environment they need. Built on a fun concept, fairly easy to learn, and stays fun. *WARNING* Don’t play this game if you don’t like strategy. Probably 70-90% strategy.
**EDIT** I gave it 4 stars because the instructions aren’t super clear – you might need to find a YouTube video before playing because not everything is explained super well. Also when you score, I find it helpful to take all my tiles off the planet – at the end of the game, placement doesn’t matter, and having the tiles on the table/floor makes it so much easier to count.

My 6-year-old and I love this game, and he understands it enough to play it well. I love the artwork in this game; it is one of the most beautiful games I’ve ever played. I also very much enjoy how this game has broken out of the traditional game boards with the planet “cores.” I appreciate that it’s really easy for beginners to pick up, and it’s complex enough that it’s hard to come up with a repeatable strategy. The replay value is excellent. One of the best games I’ve ever bought. If I had to find something about it that could be improved, I would swap the scoring rules for the animals from your natural habitat and other habitats. We’ve found it to be quite difficult to get a lot of animals from your own natural habitat because of the “not adjacent to” cards, so it seems like they deserve a bonus rather than a penalty.
