   2週間で届きました。取説の翻訳が終わり遊んでます。war game　好きな方は凄く楽しいです。アメリカのIPC初期値(starting Income)がマップ上15に表示されていますが、正しくは17です。修正マップはメーカーからは出ていないと思われます。ご注意下さい。

   Versione perfetta per chi vuole giocare Axis & Allies in 2 o 3 ore, che risolve il problema della durata lasciando inalterato il fascino del gioco originario. Se si vuole apprezzarlo appieno, però, meglio dotarsi di ulteriori dadi (ne vengono forniti solo 4), riciclare banconote da altre versioni di Axis & Allies o da altri giochi e dotarsi di fiches di diametro che si aggiri attorno a 2 cm. (poco più, poco meno) perché i gettoni di cartone da usare per aumentare il numero delle unità sono inguardabili. Se fosse stato fornito qualche pezzo in più non sarebbe stato male ma comunque resta un gran gioco. Il manuale è in inglese ma in rete si può trovare la traduzione in italiano.

   Die knapp bemessenen Mengen des Verpackungs-Inhaltes wurden hier ja zur Genüge besprochen, doch man kann sehr gut damit leben, wenn mann sich beispielsweise ein paar Plastik-Chips dazukauft, um Einheiten zu ersetzen ( Kostenpunkt ein paar wenige Euro: z.B. Bei historicslboardgaming.com). Richtig cool wird das Spiel mit der Ergänzung durch ein extra Battleboard, wie es z.B. Bei ebay zu finden ist (…) Ich hab mal ein Bild von dem sehr hilfreichen Battleboard im Retro-Style hier hochgeladen.
   Für weniger als 30,- haben wir so ein super Spiel zusammengestellt, das uns nun schon so viele Abende durch heiße Schlachten geführt hat!

5. HOW COMPLICATED? Axis & Allies Board Game Review Verified Buyer – 15 April 2025

   Don’t bother buying 1941 Axis & Allies! Hasbro, Wizards of the Coast, Avalon Hill OR all three , NOT only do they provide just the bare minimum of pieces, I WAS MISSING 1 (one) Nazi Germany sub , also 1 (one) fighter plane for imperial Japan from each sealed plastic bags they come in— so there’s maybe issues w/ Quality Control for counting pieces from their factory or something in China. I bought 1941 Axis & Allies at the regular price of $30 bucks, I notice now the price is $15.99 , I’d probably be O.K. with 2 missing pieces at this new price point, but there are IMHO bigger issues with this lite version of the game in and of itself. So skip this light , cheap (CHEAP!!!) version of the game, and maybe look into 1940 Pacific or 1940 Europe, which you can put together for a 1940 Global game, or just play each as individual games Pacific or Europe— there’ s also the Spring 1941 Axis & Allies. BUT if (like me) you’re intending to get yourself and others becoming interested in board-wargames , skip Axis & Allies all together, 1941 lite, or 1940 heavy , OR even Spring 1941, this game system is very in-efficient and takes a long time to play, with lots of dice-rolling. Not very enjoyable. My recommendation is start with Risk, same-same with Axis & Allies dice-rolling system but without ALL the PRETENSE (ie. 6 part game sequence, ” historical “, etc.); w/ RISK you’re dealing with a 3 part game sequence instead, a lot simpler (1. you get reinforcements, place them anywhere; 2. you attack, attack anywhere; 3. you maneuver, move your troops anywhere, setting up for your next turn). So, from RISK, if you decide you (and yours) might be into board-wargames and actually enjoy it, then look into Sekigahara from GMT games; then GMT games’ COIN system (to date there are 8 COIN games, I suggest start with ” Colonial Twilight ” which is the only two-player COIN game , i believe); then if you like those 2 games, Google Rachel (Bowen) Simmons of Simmons Games and check out her games ( ‘ Guns of Gettysburg ‘ is still in print, but Napoleon’ s Triumph and Bonaparte at Marengo, both Napoleonic games, are out of print… though she is coming out with “Stavka”, name of the Russian High Command, which is a WWII eastern front game). the HEX & COUNTERS system is inefficient IMHO, but if you want to play it then I recommend “Space Empires” also from GMT games (basically GMT games was Avalon Hill back in the 60s and 70s, now Avalon Hill under Hasbro is just churning out old games, no vision no innovation, whereas GMT games, plus others much smaller companies, are creating new game systems, creating & innovating). I say SKIP Axis & Allies all together, start out with Risk, then if you find that you’re into board-wargames Google GMT Games and Simmons Games, check out those other games; stay away from hex-and-counter games , although worth a looksy when this system’s used in space or the high seas (but if imposed on terrain it loses more than it gains, just my opinion). I’ve added some photos to show how cramped the 1941 game-board is. Hope that helps you.

   I’m not a total wargame nerd, but I’ve played Avalon Hill games like “Tactics II” and “Third Reich” since I was a third my current age. “Third Reich” takes as long to set up as most actually fun games take to play, but “Axis & Allies” does a nice job of compromising just enough to make the game playable. I’ve only finished ONE whole game, mind you, but it was fun, the good guys still won, and while the game mechanics give the combatants roughly the same strengths and weaknesses they had in the actual war, the rules are loose enough that the course of the game isn’t pre-programmed. (The Allies invaded France in 1944, sure, but then they got pushed out; Russia took Berlin while the US and UK won a land war in Asia. Inconceivable!) The mechanics are not hard; I would describe the whole system as a half-breed of “Third Reich” and “Risk!”. And that works better than you might think.

   My biggest complaint is that the pieces are a little clumsy. The map is a thing of beauty.

   A mi hijo le gusta mucho jugar Risk. Vió este juego y antes de comprarlo investigamos un poco el modo de juego. Ya muchas reseñas hablan sobre lo laboriosas que son las reglas y lo comprobamos tan pronto lo tuvimos en nuestras manos. Hemos tenido que ver videos y blogs para entender un poco más el modo de juego y aún hay detalles que nos hacen falta. Mi hijo está encantado con las miniaturas. Fue una buena compra como introducción para juegos más elaborados que el Risk.
