Excellent game!! I bought this game to complete a project for my Masters degree course (Cooperatively Structured Learning). I had my family members (4 adults) play the game without earning points or winning. This is an overly complicated game. If one just uses the cards and game board and plays a straightforward game, the clients find it more engaging. The cards are really awesome for thought and feeling discussions especially with teens. The extra star is when played in fast track sort of way.

I am giving Better Me five stars because I love the concept and the projected goals and outcomes as stated in the game. I am part of a grassroots organization called The Race Unity Circle in Poughkeepsie, NY, and it is our goal to address the racism that plagues this country by forging friendships and actively engaging in the community to effect change in order to start the healing process. What better way than with a fun tool that assist in the process of learning about each other in a dynamic and informal way. I am having an event- a gathering of women friends of different ethnicities in two weeks and this is the activity that will be the center of the evening. I went online looking for something exactly like this, not knowing if it existed and when I came across it, I knew it was meant for me to purchase for this gathering. I love the “ACTION” and “ACCOUNTABILITY” component of the game. If I may, I would love to leave a second review after the event with feedback from my friends/guests who participated in the game. LOVE THIS GAME!!!!! I recommend it to all friends and therapist collogues. As a therapist I used this in group with mandated treatment clients who didn’t want to do any work in treatment – they all LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS GAME!!! And kept asking to play it after the first time I broke it out! I mean, these are the clients who try to come to group high, play on their phones during group, or fold their arms while giving you the death stare or while trying to fall asleep….so, that’s just to show exactly HOW GOOD this game really is!!!! Combines SMART goals with CBT, somatic psych, motivational interviewing, narrative psych, and mindfulness based psychologies – for any therapists out there wondering my feel for the modalities – thought this is not made or sold as a “therapy game” for those interested who are not therapists. Also, for anyone else like me who likes European/Strategy boardgames – the game itself is set up like on: multiple card decks, multiple token types to use, dice, etc…it’s like all of my favorite things combined in one!!!

The best board game our game-addicted family has ever played. My kids, ages 6, 12, and 15, all loved it. Generates deep discussions and family bonding. Take it seriously and it will have far reaching effects on you and your relationships. i also love the visuals and the portability of it.
