   The green ships that came in this package don’t match the pieces in the 5-6 player expansion for the base game. The gold tiles are also have a different appearance; it looks like a lower resolution/quality print. See the attached picture for a color comparison.

   I recently added the expansion that allows for two more players to join our Catan games, increasing the fun from the regular four players to six. This addition not only applies to the original Catan game but also to the Seafarers expansion, making it even more exciting. Now we can enjoy Catan, the extension, and the Seafarers expansion with a larger group, enhancing our gameplay experience. We now have a total of four boxes: Catan, the Seafarers expansion, the Catan extension, and the Seafarers extension. With six colors to choose from—red, orange, blue, white, brown, and green—we’re set for hours of fun. It’s amazing how much variety and excitement these additions bring to our game nights.

   I enjoyed playing the original Catan base game with my boyfriend and bought an expansion for him as a gift. We love playing the scenario where all lands are a mystery until you explore or discover it and we might get a really good resource like the gold mine or bad ones like a sea or dessert.

   Get your kids off their phones, away from the TV and video games. Grow their brain!

   Understand when buying this that you’re basically buying 9-10 different spins on Catan, and they’re all good but some are complex. Adds setup time and extends the game time, but very fun. Make sure you get the Seafarers 5-6 as well if you want to play 5-6 players.

   I bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas and he said it was great! He had the other original expansion and needed the 5-6 player expansion and he said it was a perfect addition on to the regular expansion. Also said that it’s one of the easier expansions to learn if you’re looking to go beyond the base game.

    Seafarers was our first expansion to the base game of Settlers of Catan (besides the original 5-6 player expansion). You need the original Settlers of Catan set and the original 5-6 player expansion in order to use this one. So that is somewhat disappointing. But once you get going, you realize the value. Catan is one of our favorite games to play with 5 or 6 players. The only drawback is the time to play scenarios does rise with 5-6 players.

    You may want to play the scenraio with 2-4 to make sure you really like it before investing in the 5-6 player expansion. Other interesting expansions exist, and we prefer the Traders and Barbarians expansion to the Seafarers (more variety and has variants as well as scenarios) We have the 5-6 player expansion for both of these sets (and the original) and would recommend them to anyone as fun games for 5-6 players. Our kids age ten and up grasp the game just fine and have grown in their strategy ability. Having more scenarios avaialable for 5-6 players keeps the game fun, and variants add a twist.

    Highly recommend this 5-6 player expansion for Seafarers.

    So I got this in hopes of extending the regular catan set, but as you can see in the pictures the only ships you get are brown and green that don’t match anything in the normal set….so not to happy… So if you want to extend the regular Catan don’t get this… Get the one that says “extension” Not “5 to 6 player extension”… Very deceptive boxing… probably will send back but still deciding…

    I had noticed upon ordering this extension that some have had issues with the coloring and matching of the components relative to the base game and Seafarers expansion. I however had no issues with that. The pieces and board look great together. The discoloration may be due to the fact that some have ordered used copyright of the extension. An issue you might encounter is given the fact that you require both the base game of Catan, the 5-6 player extension to the base game, the Seafarers expansion and this item be prepared to have an experience getting them all to fit in the two base game boxes. Although I wouldn’t really consider that an issue. It can be quite expensive for all 4 of these purchases to be able to play a 5-6 player game of Seafarers however I will note that it is well worth the money. A 6 player game is a genuine experience and i recommended it to anyone.
