   I play a lot of board games and I got this one for Christmas.

   Pros; for a resource gathering game the set up is quick and play is smooth and competitive. There are quite a few objectives that can make you win the game and quite a few ways to get there. I really enjoy the art and the many well detailed rules.

   Cons; there are a lot of rules, which makes the first game kind of difficult to muddle through. The purchasable abilities are a little on the overpowered side if some one amasses enough money to buy them early. But that is a viable strategy. The rounds system can be a little confusing at first in terms of resolution and when you can trigger abilities, but you can find most explanations somewhere within the rules or through the absence of further clarification.

   All in all this is probably my favorite resource gathering game of all time, easily beating out charterstone and settlers of catan. Well worth it and I hope they make an expansion soon!

   This is a great strategy game. It forces you to think ahead and keep a goal in focus. Unfortunately ours is missing a black follower meaning we can only play up to 4 players instead of five. It would get 5 stars if it was complete.

   The artwork is beautiful and this game has amazing reviews, but upon opening the box I found these cards already damaged. I am highly disappointed! I hopefully I can find a way to get another deck. I do like that they provided baggies for all the poke out pieces that was an extra I was very pleased to see.

   The theme in this is a lot of fun and the game dynamics are straightforward enough but still intricate to allow for some real strategy.

   I wanted to like this game more than I did. Especially at the rather high cost. It’s basically just a race game dressed up as a worker placement/engine builder with light bidding. The strategy is pretty basic despite having three different game ending scenarios: get more followers quickly and perform the ritual before others are able to get to that space and block you. The art is pretty cool and the components are fine, if fairly typical of board games. Nothing really setting this one apart outside of the theme. But it’s executed so poorly that the theme hardly matters ultimately. A decent mid-weight game selling at a heavy-game price. Save your money and find something else for the price.
