   This is a great game. It’s good fun, some nice depth to it allowing for tactics and strategy, but fairly easy to pick up. The gameplay is tied in well with the scientific/educational aspect. The rules are well written and easy to understand, and the game is manufactured to a high quality.

   I haven’t actually played this, but I bought it for my biology teacher and he loved it! He’s also got the Peptide game by the same developer, great way to surprise ur bio teachers if ur willing to pay a bit extra than a standard gift to make their day.

   I bought this game to play with my 10 year old and was at first worried about the complexity. However, I was proved wrong. The game was fun and simple to setup and play. My daughter and I enjoyed it very much and she’s now reading the Science booklet that came with it.

   This is a very complicated game with a lot of components. Once you figure it all out, it’s fun and educational. Definitely worth the purchase. That said, we watched three videos on how to play and still weren’t closer to understanding how to play it so we went back through the guide and very carefully read the instructions step-by-step (using a little cell biology knowledge to help us understand what was going on). Steps 1 and 2 are simple and relatively transparent. For step 3, we highly recommend that you sort the Cell Component Cards by category and follow each pathway all the way through (with the pieces) to really understand how to move around the board before starting play. If you just jump right in there’s just no way you’ll be able to wing it.

   This is not a kids game- understanding the rules took someone good at directions.. but once understood it was fun. I played it a few times with my 20 year old son who is studying bio medical engineering. Awesome for emerging scientists, doctors, college students in related fields and those that enjoy biology

   Updated for both games:
   Cytosis- This is a very unique and well done game. Game play is strategic without being overly complex. It’s not a horribly long winded game, but not short either (roughly 45 minutes to an hour to play). The science is sound which makes it all the better to me (as a biologist). Overall, great game and I’m glad I purchased it!
   Periodic- This is another great game that teaches some basic concepts (about the periodic table). It’s really fun, and a bit more directly competitive as players compete to research particular elements. The mechanisms in game play don’t link up to the theme as tightly as Cytosis, but still a great game with learning opportunities.
