- DON’T BACK DOWN: Confrontations explores epic comic book Super-Villain vs. Heroes clashes with an exciting, all-new 2v2 format. Now two Super Heroes will take on two Super-Villains in a struggle for supremacy, using the Confrontation rules first introduced in DC Deck-Building Game: Rivals — Batman vs. The Joker. The rulebook contains 2-player and 3-player variant rules and rules for adding Rivals cards into the mix for even more Confrontational goodness.
- IT TAKES TEAMWORK: Confrontations debuts the Assist keyword, which may be played during your teammate’s turn, giving him or her that little extra boost. Each oversized Character has a 9, 12, and 15-cost version. As your opponents confront and knock you down, your cost goes up and your abilities improve as well, giving you a chance to make a dramatic comeback. If your team succeeds in knocking down an opposing 15-cost character, your team wins!
- VERSATILE GAMING: The game allows you to play Team vs. Team or Head-to-Head, including 2-player and 3-player variants, and is compatible with Rivals — Batman vs. The Joker. *Standalone game, but compatible with all games and expansions in DC Deck-Building Game series.*

If you have played the other Dc Deck Building games and are looking for a change, this is the change you want and need. I’ve been playing this game since it first came out a couple years ago but fell off as time went on. Now years later I have been looking for things to do on nights i have friends over and we don’t feel like going out. So we began playing Dc deck builder ( it was there first time playing) and we all got hooked.
Eventually, we wanted a new version of the game and we were eyeing this one. The first night we got this game we all knew that we found our new addiction. The games 2v2 assist and confrontation aspect really makes it more strategic than the other games. Moves have to be planned way ahead of time and there is more of “personal” feel for the game when you’re going against and trying to TAKE down the other players rather than just trying to accumulate more points than them.
So happy with the purchase and really hope they plan on releasing another big box expansion or variation of this game.

My 12 year old and I are pretty obsessed with DC Deck builder. You can pay that 1V1, but it’s really meant for 3+ people. This game fixed that. You play 1V1 or 2v2. It’s fun, has a lot of reply value. It plays mostly like the original DC deck builder, but there are not super villains and you beat your opponent by buying his her cards

The original Cryptozoic DC deck-building game was a great starting point for what is fast becoming a superb range of miscible card games. If you played ‘Rivals: Batman vs Joker’ and enjoyed the newly-added Confrontation dynamic, then think about that being incorporated into a full-scale expansion, and that’s basically what you have here; the aim is to throw down against your opponent and confront successfully tougher hero cards using skilful cardplay and sound tactical thinking. The game rewards the smart player, but at the same time, a lucky (or an unlucky) draw can turn the whole thing around. There’s a lot of replayability and hours of fun to be had with this game, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Me and my friends found this easy to understand how to play and very enjoyable with just one of the base sets or even when we started integrating the expansion packs! Very versatile and has a lot of freedom in being able to custom the game you want with your favorite cards.
Simple base system for beginners and with each expansion pack it adds a new optional gameplay mode! You can play the same way or you can change game modes, you can do versus with friends, or fight against the campaign, or team up with friends against other friends or co-op in the campaign story. There’s so much to enjoy here, and the best part is that you could just buy any of the base sets and still just enjoy that without needing to get any other expansions.
Will be playing this with my groups of friends for many years to come. Looking forward to the new Dark Nights: Metal expansion coming this year (2020) too! Also shows there’s a lot of support from the creators and fans along the years. Hope they keep adding more expansions and base sets etc.!

I’m only giving it 5 stars because I love it. The base game is really good however unless cards drop and you’re able to get them quickly all of our games ended in the deck running out with everyone still on level 12 heroes. I bought rivals and added its entire main deck into confrontations and it’s amazing. Confrontations lacks powerful cards that rivals has and also powerful block cards. It’s made the game a lot more fun and enjoyable. Now games last longer and always end in confrontations.
