Nice set but the letters are no bigger than a regular set. Did not work at all for my visually impaired mother.

This version was useless. Tiles not larger and print minimally larger. Waste if money for anyone with macular

I bought this Scrabble game for my 90 year-old-father (who has macular degeneration but actually can still drive legally, and read print with a magnifying glass) and my 89 year-old-mother (great eyesight). The game arrived and sadly it is monochromatic (white and black), which is one of the worst for macular degeneration (no mention of this on the write up). The plastic game board is glary so it’s hard to see with any sort of light above you or bright lights. My father was frustrated; the game didn’t work for him. When I went to return the game, turns out, my bad for not paying closer attention, it was a third party seller. I needed special permission to return the game and after two submissions I received it but we had to pay shipping so by the time we paid to return the darn thing that didn’t work at all for someone with macular degeneration, there’s not much of a refund coming. So please note this game is NOT GOOD FOR SOMEONE WITH MACULAR DEGENERATION and beware of buying from any third party sellers because their refund policy is not the same as boardgamesweekly.com’s and we are Prime members as well.

The tiles were still too small. and the board size was reduced, so not as much room to play.

Got this for low vision family member . As we play scrabble together weekly, I thought it would be great. Nope. The board is white. No color code to tell the values of the squares. Worse yet the print on those squares is soooo tiny that it is nearly impossible for me to read the type and I have great eyesight. The tiles are great. Very clear. You can buy them separately and I recommend you do. Just be aware that the tiles are a smidge larger that the wood tiles. But they have helped.

The tiles are great for macular degeneration. However, the board does not have colors the same as a regular board so it is impossible to read the special spaces if you have low vision. MaxiAids cannot help with this and apparently they didn’t have low vision people play this before it went to market.

Like many products for the visually impaired this product is overpriced. In addition the quality is wanting. It comes in a huge box clearly not designed to fit the product making it extrremely cumbersome and unwieldy. I would not recommend, however since it’s the only Scrabble for the low vision client on the market you’ve no choice!

The residents with vision challenges just love this game!!!!!!
