   Got this for my nephew for Easter (he’s 6). Once he opened it, we immediately had to play. He loved the Minions and I loved the nostalgia of the days playing the original Trouble with my sister when we were growing up. Lots of fun for the whole family.

   We’ve found that traditional games need to be themed based on popular characters to get our son to play them. So we have the Avengers Chutes and Ladders and now this. He loves it! Especially when he gets Siren Bob. It didn’t take us long to ditch the plastic base that attaches to Siren Bob, because it came off too easily. It’s not necessary. We just pass the figurine amongst us and lay it in front of the player who has him.

   I purchased this for my son as a Christmas gift. I am extremely disappointed. It is so poorly made that it’s impossible to even put it together to play the game. Since I purchased it early, (due to limited income), I am unable to return the item to receive a refund. I find this unfair as it was a gift and I was not aware of the poor quality until my son opened it on Christmas morning. His disappointment was heartbreaking but I guess it is a lesson learned. Never shop too early for a gift because you may not be able to return it if there is anything wrong with it.

   We purchased this particular board game as it was used in my son’s therapy session and it brought our family together to play board games together. We have had lots of fun with it and it’s also a learning process on how to communicate and strategize for my 6yr old. The board game and parts are fun and durable for what it’s used for.

   The dice for Trouble Minions are not correct; we are unable to play the game as intended.

   I agree with the other reviews; it would be nice if this were plastic like the traditional Trouble game, with pegs that fit in holes. The board is cheap cardboard and the pieces get knocked around easily. That being said, my 2 year old and 6 year old, who love Despicable Me, LOVE this game and play it all the time. My 2 year old will even get it out and play with it by himself, moving the Minions around the board, acting out scenes with them, and of course giving the Siren Bob “BEE-DO! BEE-DO! BEE-DO!” call constantly.

   This Trouble game is great! I grew up playing Trouble and it was always a favorite of mine. I was excited to find the combination of the trouble game with the Despicable Me movie especially since it incorporated Bob. As some of the other reviews stated, the game board is made out of cardboard, however, this did not cause a problem for my family nor did it take away from the enjoyment of the game. The “old” version of trouble has plastic places for you to put the pieces in where this one does not. I don’t see how the game could have been made that way since the pieces are shaped like minions. The addition of the second die in the popper for Bob made the game very enjoyable as every time Bob came up we would yell, “Bob.” I think we had more fun trying to get Bob than playing the actual game.
