Fantastic game with amazing production. my favorite vital lacerda title so far!

This game deep and has a well integrated theme. The learning curve, however, is steeeeeeep. Be prepared to spend a day just learning the flow of the game.

A truly fantastic, beautiful, richly thematic resource management game about rebuilding the city of Lisboa after a series of disasters. Be warned though, this game isn’t for the faint of heart. It terms of Euros, this is pretty much as complicated as they come. But the learning curve is worth it. If you like heavy, thinky games that reward multiple plays, this is for you.

One heavy box; one heavy game. Totally worth it. Works equally well with just 2p and higher player counts. If one is ready to go through the process of 100% understanding the game then he just might stand a chance to actually teach it to the new people. Highly recommended.

This is probably the heaviest game I’ve played and has gotten me interested in some of Vital Lacerda’s other games like Kanban EV. I have only played solo, and I can see this being really amazing playing with other people, but as a solo game I do have a few nitpicks. The solo mode is simple and easy to run, but beating the bot is easy, so for more of a challenge, there are objectives like beat the bot in points, number of shops, and have at least 8 decree cards. After a while, you see the patterns in what the bot does so getting those challenges can be a bit repetitive. There is an alternate solo mode on boardgamegeek and I’ve played it once so far. The alternate mode seems more involved to run, but the bot does more things a real player might do, which is nice.
When it comes to the quality of the pieces, I have to say I am impressed. The player boards are double layered and some of the counters are screen printed. It seems they started putting the kickstarter components in there as well like the cloth bags and random city tiles which was nice to see. For organization, there are three organizing trays which make taking out and putting the game away a breeze.
