I ordered this for one of my classroom teachers to use in our Montessori school. The size of the beads are standard and the box is well-made.The beads are nylon, not glass, as they typically are with Montessori materials. I suppose that glass beads are far more expensive and for the use they will get here, I am happy with the nylon. I suggest that the bead material is stated in the description.

These beads are great quality. They are being used in our Montessori homeschool and have held up for over a year now with almost daily handling. They have helped both my kids understand basic math concepts, and can be used in numerous ways. We are very pleased with this purchase. My beads have never stuck together and the yellow four beads are yellow. Maybe they have upgraded the product since the reviewer who had problems, I’m not sure but ours are excellent quality.
