I sent this directly to the grandsons several states away so I didn’t get to see it in person, but it was a major hit with the grandsons, who had admired a different mancala board I have. So many mancala boards, especially made specifically for the American market have poorly made hinges and with the cup depressions are too small, and sometimes too rough. This one comes from West Africa and appears up the standards of traditional players who actually regularly play the game. There are many variations of this game using the same game board, so it can provide variety and new challenges as well a chance to learn more about other cultures and even game theory.

I really like the fact that this one folds straight down the middle of the board, instead of crossways. That way there is no gap or hinge to fumble over as you play.
