   I have had two separate issues with this copy and I am unsure why.

   I bought it brand new, but at first I did not have enough of the wooden block pieces to put the unit stickers on, and then secondly, I do not even have enough Carthaginian units to do the scenarios like Zama and others. I am unsure why this is the case, but I am unable to play due to not having the required units.

   This was fresh from the box and I found this issue only after trying to play and set it up with my Brother.

   Simple combat system with special rules unique to the period. Master it and you’ll buy the other games in the series. It has become my favorite war game series.

   Great game. At the beginning it seems a little bit confusing for the ones with no much experience in this kind of games, but by the second match you get all of its feeling. Great game and for me, with the adequate mix of strategy and luck, as it is as I think on real battles.

   This set is durable. It also comes with hundreds of stickers, so be prepared for that. The rules are a bit complicated for beginners, but just do what I do – make up your own if you feel like it! For us, this also doubles as a tabletop role playing game map. I recommend buying a little putty to make the terrain tiles stick to the board temporarily.

   Really fun, truly epic game. It is a bear to set up and learn, though–first, you have to manually apply hundreds of strickers to little wooden blocks. Then you have to learn a pretty complex rules system (complex if you’re not a wargamer, that is). The rules aren’t hard, there’s just lots of little things to remember. But once you’ve invested the time, it’s a really fun, exciting game! I normally play Euro games like Carcassonne, Agricola, Keyflower, etc. but this one has a special place on my game shelf and in my heart!
