These are the rules for Washington’s War.
One of my favorite two person historical wargames. The game designer wove History into the game which shows in many aspects.

This is a tremendous improvement on the previous game that came out in the early 90’s. It plays more quickly, since there are no battle cards. Also, the problem of having cards in your hand that you are totally unable to use (especially for the British) has been dealt with.

3rd Printing of the game. One of the grandaddy of card-driven wargames.

I don’t know why GMT Games has this game listed as solo-playable. It doesn’t make any sense to play this game by yourself. If you play solo, you obviously play both sides, but where’s the fun in that? All you’re doing is seeing how to “best” play that side. There’s no sense of competition against an AI. In games like this, I want to play as only one side against the opponent. It’s really hard to believe that this game got a BGG Golden Geek award. You believe that? This game seriously needs a revision to give an AI mechanism to the opposing side for solo play.
