The chess boiard and the pices were exactley as pictured. Beautiful workmanship. Both the clovers and all the
decorative inlays gives the board a classical look. The pieces all look great. The interior piece holders, which secure the pieces when the board is closed, could use a little improvement. It is very thin molded plastic. I immediately corrected this issue by reinforcing edges of the bottom insert with green duck tape. I placed the tape on the edges of the bottom half after removal from the case. Once the bottom was back the case, it helped reinforce the plastic holder and the pieces fit a little more secure when the board was in the folded close position. The tape is completely hidden. I also wanted to mention, this plastic was coated with a felt spray. I did not expect this, a nice look. There was a slight smell when I first opened the case. This is normal due to the finish that is applied to the board and pieces. This will be gone within a few days. Overall I was very pleased with this purchase and will recommend it to my friends.

This chess board is gorgeous. I’m new n this game and I wanted something valuable to play on. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth every penny. Very elegant and very well made.
