Santa brought this for my son on Christmas and we looked forward to playing with it since I had it as a child. Unfortunately, one of the plastic parts where pegs are placed was broken upon opening – I simply taped it to the game so while memories of playing this classic game are great – it needs to be more durable.

I always loved battleship as a kid and now my kids do too. At first I was disappointed that there wasn’t a fancy electronic version available. But then we got it home and I realized that its simplicity is why it’s so easy to learn and so available to younger kids. They have enough flashing lights in their world, this is just real thinking fun. It’s always a winner!

Pretty good Battleship playing pieces, the pieces work well.
One major drawback is that there is no public display of the opponents announced shots. If it turns out that the opponent’s ships occupy squares you have recorded as having attacked without result, there is no mutually “agreed to” record of the results. Kids often make mistakes, and worse this lack of a record encourages cheating.
To avoid disputes, grandson and I use the pieces from a separate set (U-Build Battleship) to record shots.

Bought due to the great reviews. The product is very pliable and not sturdy. Ships do not fit firmly in the holes and easily pop out. Would not be ideal for travel. Cannot recommend at the price point on here.

Purchased this for my daughter’s birthday. Sturdily built, basic game, just like the one I played forty years ago. Kids are still enjoying it. Not much bad to say about this: attractive plastic modeling. No electronics. She plays it with her friends for hours.

I bought this for my son’s 6th birthday because he was begging us for it. Of all things, right? So, his birthday was in early December and he still wants to play it everyday. It’s better than the electronic game because you can sit across the room from your apponent to play it. AND, it’s a very portable, grab and go game when you know you’re going somewhere that will involve a lot of waiting. My son also has a lot of Wii games and it’s refreshing to see him choose a classic board game over Super Mario!

This game was NOT worth the price! It is made so pathetically cheap it was an embarrassment to give as a gift. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

This game is a classic and with good reason: it entertains while teaching strategy and it is easy to learn and play. This is the first electronic one that we’ve had. We had, and enjoyed the board game version and we have a similar game on the computer. My grandson enjoys both but he’s particularly enjoying this one with the visual feedback as a result of his moves and choices.
