   So happy to finally have an updated version of outburst. I love the new card. The card reader is great but can be a little hard to see at times.

   A fun game but for my old eyes – it’s kind of hard to read the answers in the red, semi-translucent card reader. Others felt the same but it seemed to be no problem for the younger people playing. Just keep that in mind…it can be a nuisance. Lots of double sided cards to go through so it will provide lots of playing time.

   This game it’s lots of fun, and a lot harder than I expected! There are 3 large stacks of cards included, and each has a category on the front and on the back, so you’ll get plenty of great play out of this game! The cards are good quality, my only complaint is that it’s tough to read the red ink on the red view screen. I know that’s just kind of the nature of the beast, but I have played games in the past with a similar mechanism where I didn’t have to squint and hold it close to my face. But that’s not enough to make me downgrade this to a 4-star review, so it really jut comes down to personal preference I guess. It’s a great game that all ages can play together, and if you’ve ever watched Family Feud then you already know 90% of the rules.

   It arrived on time. I played this game before and had buy it for a final game night with my stepkids before moving into separate residents. They really enjoyed the game and they learned from it. So it’s not just fun but educational for everyone. I learned a little about Grey’s Anatomy, a show that I don’t watch. They enjoyed it so much that we played to 100 points, which my daughter can won with total of 106 points.

   It’s fun. Kids love it. I don’t feel it has to be red cover to hide words from others seeing because it makes it difficult for person flipping correct answers to read.

   If you find this review helpful please LIKE it so others can find it before buying. Outburst is one of the handful of party games we pull out every holiday season at parties because it is a solid game. I’d give it 5 stars. The older version was beginning to become too dated for our teens to recognize some of the answers. I’ll be returning this version unfortunately. It just won’t be enjoyable to try and decypher these answers as they are definitely hard to read. I think they may be just trying to sell all these “defective” ones off. I tried an extra red plastic sheet to see if that helped (see photo) but no good. The picture I’m uploading is actually an improvement over seeing it in person, but i don’t think that would be a practical way to play the game. I’ll stick with my 1990s version until they fix the red viewer issue.

    I was hestitant to buy because of the negative reviews, but I finally clicked the buy button and am glad I did. I have no problem reading the cards as a normal 30 something with bad eyesight. It’s a fun game for family game night and is a much improved (current) version of the circa 1990 game our family has been playing for 30 years.

    This is our family’s favorite party game, remarkable for its ability to attract and hold the attention of some children, at times even those who are below the recommended minimum age, and in a game where most of the players are adults. I haven’t played another game in which the participation of children doesn’t detract from the enjoyment of adults. The kids only occasionally contribute to their team’s play, but when they do, they’re keenly satisfied at playing at the level of the adults.

    This most recent update lacks the scoreboard of previous versions and the hourglass timer is too quick for our liking. However the tokens for passes are better, and we just use a timer that’s a little longer.

    I was hesitant to order this after reading reviews about it being difficult to read but we love this game so I went for it. My kids like the updated questions versus the original game we have had since the 90’s. Know that this version keeps score on paper instead of the slide scale like the original, and there are fewer cards than original too. The cards are easy to read so that was not an issue.
