I purchased this game as a birthday present for a family member. After having played it several times I can tell you it’s a lot of fun! The rules are pretty simple and game play moves quickly.
The basic game is as follows: Each team has 30 seconds to think of a word that fits the category on the card and spell that word CORRECTLY while moving the corresponding tiles on the ‘street’. The goal is to be the first team to get 8 tiles(letters)on your teams side of the board. Oh, and the opposing team can try and distract you during your turn!
As more and more letters are removed from play it becomes more difficult to think of a word that fits the card category and contains letters that are still in play.
The recommended age is 12 and up, but I honestly think younger kids would benefit from the game as well. After all, you don’t have to use the 30 second timer, and they can be part of a team and help move the letters as someone else spells.

I won’t duplicate the comments made by others. Yes, it’s great fun. Yes, it’s easy to learn. Yes, we love it.
I will add, however, that it’s great for parties or groups of people who don’t know each other well (yet). We brought it on a cruise with us (removed from the box, which is a little large and is mostly packaging). It was a hit and a great way for us to get to know others in our group we hadn’t gotten to know very well prior. A wonderful ice-breaker. I’d suggest, however, splitting couples into opposite teams so that you end up working WITH your new acquaintances instead of AGAINST them; this makes for a much less confrontational competition.

A good educational game. It was recommended by our speech teacher. It helps come up with words that fit the description. The longer the word the better for moving the letter tiles. We modifiy a little and help the kids spell the words – I use it to come up with a variety of words to increase vocabulary – not as interested in the spelling aspect. Some examples are: a color, famous actress, something you can drive (kids have to work in teams to come up with an answer that will move the most tile – or capture a tile). Lots of different cards so will many games to get through the stack – and 2 sided. Green side of card is easier than blue.

I was excited to buy it at a discounted price. But then discovered that it was missing one of the tiles! Not the end of the world, obviously. I can always make one on my own but still disappointing. Everything else is in great shape. No worn spots or bent corners, etc.

This is the best board game I have played in years. My son and I played this for hours and the time just flew by. I can’t wait to play this with a larger group of folks. It is fast paced, challenging, but, most importantly, it is SO MUCH FUN. the game board is attractive and very pleasantly sized. The question cards are cleverly chosen and the game pieces themselves look so cool. I simply can’t say enough good things about this fantastic board game. My christmas shopping list is officially done. I am giving everyone I know this great, great game. Buy it immediately!!! Highest recommendation. (very highest) and I very seldom say that about anything.

Bought this on review from Dice Tower, it is an ok game. Not that great with less people, just a little fun. The timer does add an amazing amount of pressure and even someone with a good vocabulary can get tongue tied.
Great concept, very interesting, very different take on words and letters than other games.
My view is it much better with more people who are willing to get rowdy and yell out words to confuse the other team.

OK, my children have access to my boardgamesweekly.com prime account to order textbooks and like. They snuck this past me somehow and gave it as present for Xmas. Woohoo! So I get to review my own present. The game concept is fantastic. Teams/players are given a concept and have to suggest word. The letters in the word are shifted to their side. Opponents do the same and it becomes a tug-of-war of the letters used in the concepts. When one team pulls letters full to its side, the game is decided.
I would have given the game 5 stars but for one reason: the game desperately needs a referee. If the topic is “Pizza toppings” and one side chooses “blueberries” it’s a theoretical possibility, but would you really do it? You might like anchovies while others hate it, but … blueberries? The game’s one flaw can be cured with a ref. Then it’s fantastic fun.

LOVE this game. We first played this game when it was on display in a toy store. I could not drag my children away (10 and 11 years old). The simple description of the game is 1) there is a topic picked and 2) you have a set amount of time to pick a word that fits in that topic. For each consonant in the word, you get to move a tile toward your side of the board. Strategically the more consonants in your word, the better the move. The only downside to the game is that people with a larger vocabulary do better, making it harder for the kids (although they can still easily play). You have to make sure one team does not have a word wiz on it!
