   First learned this game working the Viking encampment at the Sarasota Medieval Fair was super excited to find a set this nice.

   Nicely made pieces but no tactics as to how you play. There are a set of rules but we got bored after twenty minutes and only played once. The “board” is just a piece of material.

   I must admit I had never heard of this fabulous game before and stumbled across it browsing a chess shop website.What a gem of a game! As a decent chess player of almost 50 years I was intrigued.The set is very nice ,small but weighty due to material,crushed stone/resin.The linen board is very functional and nice to look at ,see pic.I downloaded a Hnefatafl android app,free with ads and I paid for the same app on Steam for PC to play against as i am a solo player.£3 something, a bargain indeed.This app has many variants suitable to play with this wonderful set.I much prefer a real board to staring at a screen.The game itself is very simple rule wise.Rook moves basically….however it is very challenging!!! I love it.A refreshing change to standard chess and totally different tactics.Am still sussing it out.Have won twice as defender and not at all as attacker but its a really good game.Would be fun to play a human 😀.I was so impressed I bought the wooden board to go with the pieces.Highly recommend this game if you love strategy games like chess ,draughts,Othello etc

   I’ve been wanting this game for a while. It reminds me of a mix of checkers and pente. We haven’t played it yet because we got sick but the rules are thorough and easy to understand, and the mat / pieces / box are lovely. Very happy to have picked this out of the options out there. Very collectible.

    I purchased this set after enjoying the game using a set that was distinctly less “Norse” but far better packed and constructed. I was looking forward to using this set and enjoying the aesthetic, which I do. That said, this set has nice resin pieces that are thrown into plastic bags, and those into a box with nothing ensuring its keeping closed. My outcome was several chipped pieces in the bags and the outer box having damage.

    The game itself is amazing and plays like chess with nothing but queens. I recommend this game highly. However, this brand was not quite up to the price that I was charged.

    This game looks wonderful and seems to be well made, but it’s not exactly giftable since the box isn’t sealed, and the pieces are just thrown in there… I ended up shrink-wrapping the pieces and box myself so it felt brand new and not like it was a second-hand thing. ::shrug::
