The paint was chipped off of all of the pieces, and gave off lead paint vibes. The board is cheap for the price so I made my own board, and pieces. Don’t really need this one anymore. Still a really fun challenging game though.

I love how it comes with a wooden box for storage, however, it should have been bigger to store the game mat. Also, some of the pieces were chipped. They were not even protected properly.

I enjoy the design, articulation and solidity of these resin pieces, but I found the rubberized cloth board annoying- doesn’t lie flat even after pressing under heavy book pile. I bought a separate wooden board instead.
A matte finish (rather than super glossy) and a better, smoother paint job on the brown pieces would have been much prettier. The wood box is handsome and decently made, but it has no space even for the flexible mat board. A standard folding cardboard board designed to fit in the case would be much better. The board graphics are nice, but not stunning.
The game itself is easy to learn, intriguing and fun- enough complexity to keep interest, but not the hard work of chess or go.
