   I am a Cthulhu fan and enjoy the odd roleplaying game, so when I saw I could get this for a good price, I was quite pleased. It is a lovely set of heavy books that are lavish throughout with good rpg content for Call of Cthulhu. I have yet to read it all and G.M. the adventure, but I am so glad I bought it and look forward to immerse myself and intrepid PC’s in this enthralling adventure.

   I bought this game to play so the condition of the damaged box, which damaged the slipcase was annoying, but in the end not devastating. Had I been a collector I would have been thoroughly annoyed. It arrived in an boardgamesweekly.com branded box with one pocket of an airbag and the books had obviously had a rough trip. This damaged the slipcase badly but I can still play it.

   I had the pdfs for this set and used them to run the first two scenarios. I was getting annoyed with scrolling through to find things to I figured I would get the books as well for reference. I am not disappointed. They are really good quality and very easy to work with. The binding allows then to open flat with ease. The Keeper Screen may come in handy as it has a quick reference for all the NPCs in the game. Everything is just very well put together.

   I probably over use CTRL-F with the pdfs and will still use them, but the physical copies are something to behold. I will be tabbing the various sections for ease of use, but I think these in conjunction with the pdfs will really fun to use.

   The bookset itself is good. One of the best campaigns for CoC. But who would have thought shipping 4-5 pounds of package (almost) without any protection might damage the product .. RIP my slipcase. Could have known better ordering stuffs from boardgamesweekly.com.

   This is for the Chaosium version of the game, which I opine is the best system for it. The books are well made for mass market. You’d be well advised that the third part is loose leaf for handouts to players as their characters go about their investigation and that you should perhaps have a way to keep them together should you wish to put them all together on the book case without the slip case it all comes in.

    First off, the book is FANTASTIC! Excellent content. 5 stars without a doubt! But, as others have said, terrible packaging! I read the previous reviews and knew that was a risk. So I opted for the most expensive shipping option. It did arrive early, but the slipcase is completely broken! I was willing to accept a few dings and scrapes, but the slipcase is ripped open due to bad packaging. I will come back to edit this based on interaction with the company about replacements/refund. It’s also a pity, as chaosium are known for excellent packaging.

    Unfortunately my product arrived damaged (as one can see in the pictures) and the “return & refund” options (automated customer services) would make me pay a lot more for the international return than I would for a new purchase of the same item (and boardgamesweekly.com would only refund one fourth of this cost). It’s the first time in more than a decade that I am let down by boardgamesweekly.com. The book itself? It would be amazing if undamaged
