Balderdash is on our list of top five games ever. We play it whenever we go on vacation with cousins and grandparents. It is suitable for anyone who can read and write, ages 7 and up. Some of the kids fool us, actually, with their clever fake movie plots and acronyms. Each game takes about 1-2 hours to play. The rules are extremely simple. You depend only on creativity and imagination. No silly clay to sculpt or play acting. Hours and hours of fun.

I purchased Balderdash for the Christmas crowd we’d be staying with. The ages were early twenties to mid-fifties and we all had fun. We were laughing very, very hard at times. Because the game does not require one to be knowledgeable in any particular subject or in trivia, no one has to feel like they won’t do well. One can make up an answer for each round. So I would highly recommend this game of you want your group to have fun.

This has been a family favorite for 20 years. I was so excited to get it for my husband to introduce it to him and my teenage kids. As expected, we have already played numerous times and laughed till we were in tears. It’s hilarious but still requires brain power which is perfect for summertime. LOVE!!

Balderdash is a great game! Players guess an answer for a topic read by rotating readers. Everyone writes their guess, and the reader writes the actual answer. Players vote on the one they think is correct. All players can gain points for different things. ALL the true answers are actually ridiculous, so the trick is to write similarly ridiculous guesses, so people will vote for your guess as the real one. They are ALL hilarious. Only play if you are prepared to laugh a lot. It is educational in that you have to be creative, and it takes learning what is expected, and making up something you expect to win. I highly recommend it for adults and rather literate kids.

Great game for family get-togethers, especially those you haven’t seen for awhile! I especially love it when the “most educated” of the group guess my “made up” definition or answer! It’s hilarious to hear even the correct answer & we are all in stitches with each round. Our daughter & husband turned us on to this game last year when we went there to visit & since we love games, we were immediately in. There were 6 of us & have actually at times-played with more than the recommended amount of players, we just added a coin (penny, nickel, dime etc) for the additional players -we were laughing so hard it was difficult to “get serious” when the betting began.
We recently ordered the same game for ourselves to take with us over Thanksgiving to see other relatives & we all really enjoyed it—very fun game!

This is my absolute favorite game of all time! I was so excited and happy when I came across the exact one I was looking for. It was used but all the pieces were there, just slight damage on the corner of the box, but I didn’t care as long as all the pieces were there.
