   this is a fun but complicated game it is very long but does not have to be played all the way through it is a nice mix of both the stock end of things and the railroading end I would recommend it to anyone who like railroad games and strategy games

   Used to play this a lot. Thought would be a good game to teach my kids who enjoy Train and themantic games. Upon arrival it was evident that half the cards were missing. Also the paper band the money came wrapped in didn’t contain the money and it was all mixed up in the box and some had been bent and creased. Attempted to contact the publisher about replacing the missing cards and they no longer replace parts. Their response is to return and get a replacement. Poor customer service and quality control. Decided to just return and not take our chances on a second box also missing parts.

   As others mentioned, dispute the image showing the Mayfair edition, I received the Lookout edition, which is better.

   I got minimal version from Lookout games.

   Not as complicated as it appears- In the game plays very different depending on how many players you have. So much fun!

   Great railroad and market manipulation game. The rules are very in-depth but once you figure out the mechanics the gameplay is very balanced. This game will stay in my collection.

   Fantastic game. Brings strategy games to the next level. Unlike many games which utilize some element of chance to determine a winner, this game effectively leaves that determination up to the players – if you’re railroad empire fails, it’s completely you’re fault – not the result of rolling dice or drawing from a deck of cards. Gameplay takes longer than other board games – I don’t have the attention span for the 5-6+ hours in a single sitting, so I sometimes spread it out over a weekend. However, when players keep their turns moving efficiently the game continues to remain intriguing. Interestingly this game revolves more around stock than railroads. Personal cash (not cash in railroad treasuries) determines the winner. It’s actually possible to win the game through strategic stock investments without ever owning a railroad. However, I prefer owning at least one railroad corporation so that I can enjoy building track and creating routes between stock rounds. Would give it 4.5 stars – only main gripe is the box build quality. Box developed a slit down the edge when I first opened it. Had to tape it over to prevent further damage.
