   My daughter loved this and really enjoyed solving the puzzles. Some were super easy and other a mor challenging, but it kept her engaged all the way through to the end. You don’t end up with much after all is said and done, though, so if you are a parent with a kid that has too much lingering stuff this could be a great gift option, like it was for us. If you are going to do an ROI calculation on what you get out of the dig, you will be disappointed 🙂 the value is in the experience.

   Great gift for a 12 year old. Four teens from 12-18 spent about 3 hours solving clues and digging for items. They worked together and really enjoyed it. Was a nice change from the screen time focus. Probably about 2 hours to solve, with the third spent excavating the egg and cleaning the model. They all wished for more missions from this line.

   I don’t write reviews often but this kit deserves praise. It’s such a fun couple of hours to spend with your kiddos. It’s very engaging and makes you think! Worth every penny sent and hoping they make more!

   My almost 10 year old daughter loved this so much. She tends to like dragons and riddles, and has recently learned about escape rooms, so this was right up her alley! Although it’s a one time use game, and amused us for almost 2 hours, and the puzzles were a good level of challenge. Also, the digging component was substantial and fun. All in all, it was a big Christmas hit, and we wish there were more like this!

   I will keep this as spoiler free as I can. Basically, this is an escape room for families that have children. We played it with a 5 year old and 8 year old. Our 8 year old did well at solving a lot of the puzzles, our 5 year old did well once you got him started with the concept of each puzzle. The game comes with 3 clue cards that have 3 questions each so there are about 10 puzzles to solve. Each puzzle requires you to figure out a word and then on the puzzle card each question has a multiple choice answer with scratch of boxes. Scratch off what you think the correct answer is and you will get a number (telling you which story card to read next) or an X which means you got it wrong. With that being said, there is nothing that can cause you to get “stuck”. If you don’t know the answer you can always scratch off all the multiple choice answers until you get the answer with the number, which is the next story card (they go in order from 1 – 10). The game comes with a solutions book if you really want to know how the puzzle is actually solved as well. Each crate comes with one of those plaster style, excavating, balls. You soak it in water while you solve the puzzle and then once you get the question right you excavate the ball to get an item that helps you solve future puzzles. This is a neat concept as they could have just had the item in a box or opaque wrapper that you aren’t allowed to open until you solve the puzzle. The problem is, these things are hard to open up. The little tool and brush they give you just doesn’t go it. If your kids absolutely love to open them the intended way then this part of the game will be fun for them, however it will take a couple of hours to finish the game this way. If I had a hammer I would have smashed them apart. It is worth noting that after you finish an answer card, which is basically all the puzzles for one box, you could pause there and come back to the game and finish it in 3 sessions. The puzzles aren’t too difficult, only 2 slightly stumped the adults for a few minutes. They are very light puzzles (i.e. trace lines to spell a word, read a paragraph to follow along a map to find where you should go). Great depth of puzzles for our 8 year old. Overall, I highly recommend it! Its a great escape room for kids and families. It is only playable ONE TIME as you scratch off the answer cards and open the excavating balls. ONE SPOILER THATS IMPORTANT FOR THE ADULTS in regards to the final chest: The last crate has a dragon egg that contains a painted dragon 4″ plastic miniature. While this is cool, if you have multiple kids, this is going to be hard to say who actually gets the toy. So, either have some other ones on hand or plan on putting the dragon on a shelf as a trophy for the family lol.

   My 10 year old son got this for Christmas and really enjoyed it. His 7 year old brother and I joined him for some of it and now we are hoping they make more of these as my 7 year old wants one!
   Took us about an hour and a half to complete. Some of the puzzles were easier than others but it was all a lot of fun.
