   We played with 10 people ages 17-77. We omitted the actress because of reviews about risque theming. I was the hostess and I happened to draw the murderer X. If I hadn’t, the whole game would have been screwed up. I had read the full host guide about ten days before the party when it first arrived. The abbreviated notes in the play guide do NOT tell you to ask ALL questions (2 for every character) in each round. I had forgotten that part, so each of us was choosing one question to ask. It happened that no one chose to ask me even one question in round one. I was flipping to my final guilty “expose” and was confused how anyone would figure it out if I never revealed my round one answers. This led to me rereading long rules during round two, stopping everything and us catching up to make sure everyone read an answer aloud to each question. In spite of that, all ten highly educated players (teenager has finished a year of dual enrollment) missed who the murderer was. Two contradictions in my answers were accurate, but no one in a room of ten people listening to that many details could keep track of them all. 100% agreement on taking notes next time. Also, my parents in their mid 70s were the only ones who had participated in one of these before and said the unscripted mingling kind was more fun. Regardless, we enjoyed the costumes, the assuming of roles, the Austrian food, etc. We might try another of these. It is hard to advise other characters to exclude because the boring ones might have much more exciting guilty scripts, but I would definitely include the widow, psychiatrist, nun, and spy. Sorry they are all female. Male roles were less exciting. We didn’t use strongman or Indy but would next time and would ditch the prof.

   Great game and a fun evening! Some of the ones were a little risqué so I would say this is an adult only game. No one guessed the murderer – although to be fair a lot of alcohol had been consumed,Ed by then!

   I bought this for my teenage daughters birthday party. We did a dinner party with friends and relatives and it was a blast! We decorated a table in red and gold, had place settings and everything. The instructions were relatively easy, the cd that came with it was very entertaining and we even played the playlist off of Spotify for the background music. The only negative I have to say is that if you don’t give your players the response cards ahead of time it was very difficult for them to get into character. Some of the characters have accents and different speech patterns that were hard to decipher. I definately recommend giving these out ahead of time because we some of the clues get lost if the cards are not read properly. Other than that it was so much fun- even had teenage boys playing that were very good sports and got into it as well.

   You have to pay close attention to the instructions, the killer revealed himself before he was meant to, as we did things slightly out of order 🤣. It was great fun though and will play again.

   character information and script was excellent . This is really good if one guest has to let you down on the day as it doesn’t stop the game . Extra materials available if some get lost by guests . I adapted this to an online game with just a bit of effort and it was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone ! The manufacturer support was excellent .

   My daughter and her friends played this for her 17th birthday. They had a blast with it, but there is one character that is a bit risque and my daughter ended up with her character. She was highly embarrassed while reading the closing statements, were they horrible? No, but for a group of young kids that have high morals and standards they she was embarrassed to be reading about her character undressing and climbing into bed naked only to notice a man in her bed. Everyone thought it was funny and did the typical giggle and belly laughs and eventually my daughter realized that, that was as far as her character went, the man was passed out drunk and didn’t even know she was there (again, all fictional characters and just reading the story line) in the end she too thought it was funny and they all had a good laugh at how red she turned while reading. No one was able to guess the murderer, so it was a good challenge for them all. They played with about 9 people.
   This would be a very fun party game if everyone came dressed in their characters role. Could easily be played with younger children if you prepped who ever got this one character or simply took her out.
   Loved that you didnt have to have all characters to play the game.

   This was lots of fun when we played it at our book club. One problem was that the murderer was more obvious to us than in previous sets we’ve purchased by this company.
   We ran 12 players. It took 4 hours and included handing out the murder picking papers, intro on computer, act 1 and 2, discussion of evidence, stopping for food, act 3, discussion and accusations, then reveal. A lovely evening ☺️

   I played this for the first time last week. It was fab, all the guests enjoyed it. We had 9 friends and one couldn’t come last min but he game is designed that it doesn’t need all the parts filled. So makes hosting easier. Games I have used before you had to fill all the parts otherwise it wouldn’t work. This game can be used many times over. Highly recommend was a brilliant evening.
