   If you appreciate art, mysteries, and the whimsy of séances, this game could very well be for you. Mysterium is also perfect for those who enjoy working as a team. Pro tip: When learning the game, have a cat help explain how to play. They have excellent clairvoyance, after all. PS If you want to learn how to play by watching others do so, search YouTube for Wil Wheaton’s TableTop episode that features Mysterium.

   Love this game. It’s unique and is really easy to teach to people of all ages. howver, there is one modification to the box’s insert that I would STRONGLY recommend. Inside the storage slot for the ghost’s location cards, there is a small raised ridge of plastic stretching horizontally along the bottom of the insert. This ridge of plastic WILL dent the cards you place in there, as the ghost’s game screen and box lid will push down on the cards and press them against the ridge. Thankfully I habitually sleeve all my game cards, so only the sleeves had been damaged by the time I noticed the problem. To solve this, I suggest you remove the insert from the box, flip it upside down, and (carefully!) use an x-acto knife to carve out the ridge like I did in the picture provided.

   This game is great once it’s set up. I even downloaded some sound effects to my tablet and played the gonging clock and crows and stormy weather for ambience. It takes a long time to set up, though. After each round you have to gather/sort all the cards, match them up between decks (so the “ghost” and the players have the same cards), put them in the envelopes/screen, etc. We would spend about 20 minutes playing, then another 10 minutes setting it back up again.

   We love this game! We’ve played it 8 times since getting it. Which is enough times for each person to play the ghost once/twice and we love it! It’s definitely in our board game playing rotation now. Style of game: – A more adult, more fun. more challenging version of Clue. – Co-op Positives: – Great theme, we even dimmed the lights to set the mood – Good, quality components. – Beautiful artwork – Fun to play for both sides of the table. Sometimes when games have 1 person that plays as something different than the others, once side ends up not having as much fun. That isn’t the case with this game. – Age rating seems pretty close. We played with a 12 year old and sit was good for her, challenging but fun. She even asked to play it again the 2nd night. She did have a little more fun and easier time at the ghost, but I think everyone will feel that way. – Game play is pretty easy to understand, once you make it through the instructions. Negatives: – Instructions could be easier to follow. It took a while to learn because of that. We watched a video though, I’d recommend that. – The screen for the ghost is a little too tall so it makes it hard to look over and see the rest of the cards on the table. – Good replay value if you play with different people every 5 or so times. If it’s the same group of people I could see this becoming slightly repetitive. Personal notes: – I wouldn’t play this with someone you have never met or don’t know being the ghost. It relies a lot on people’s interpretations of the cards and if you have no concept of the thought process of the person playing ghost it could become frustrating, very fast. – New players should play as ghost first. For us, it seemed to go a lot better that way.

   Super jeux, de longue soirée d’amusement avec ce jeux. Et on se rend vraiment compte que personne ne pense pareil en voyant une image, chacun son interpretation ce qui rend ce jeux vraiment sympatique. En plus il est vraiment simple à comprendre, pas besoin d’assimiler des tonnes de régles.
