    Everyone who I play with in this variant love the fish and the ‘harbor master.’ Can speed up game a little and add some more excitement. The boot with the fish makes it fun slowing down your opponents as well. If you take the time to learn the other ways of playing, I’m sure they’d be good too but I failed to take the time to do that.

    Great product! Comes with lots of new variants and scenarios with lots of new pieces, tiles, and rules. It comes with clear bags but I bought the plastic boxes to separate all the cards and pieces. Fun to play and easy to learn, just watch a YouTube video.

    More of a catan creator complaint: the box is setup like the original game and doesn’t fit any of these new pieces cohesively. We also learned that in order to use the 5-6 player game you need both extensions to the game.

    I have to say that there are several ways to play Catan…. But this box has so many ways ontop of so many ways! Great expansion pack. I gave easy to learn only 4 out of 5 stars because there is some confusion… but nothing you can’t figure out if you are already skilled at basic Catan. I gave giftable 3 stars because you can’t use it without the base game– so if you are gifting it to someone who doesn’t have the base game, it is useless…. If they have the base game, this is a great addition and nicely packaged.
