   This game worked very well for 3 generations on NYE. I bought it last minute and hadnt realised that I could have given guests some of their details beforehand. If we get another this is something I’ll definitely do. For the price per person it worked out at decent value for money though of course, one you know the murderer you can’t really play again.

   This was our first Murder Mystery from Ace. We really enjoyed the historical aspects of the game but also had fun playing up the “clichéd” aspects of the pirate characters. We bought the game for a birthday party which included younger friends and family members. Although the game included subtle jokes and innuendoes intended for adults, they were presented in such a manner that the slightly racier aspects of the jokes sailed right over the heads of younger ears. For the last four years, we have purchased a different Ace murder mystery to celebrate our son’s birthday. Our guests (both younger and older) look forward to this special event each year. The CD that is included with the game, along with the clues, is always entertaining, along with the sometimes surprising endings! I would highly recommend any Ace Murder Mystery. The company itself has excellent customer service. For those of us in the U.S., I am so glad these games are now available on boardgamesweekly.com.

   It was alot of fun! The only downside is they tell the murderer who they are on the last scene, when other games we play ,the murderer dosent even know they are it until after all votes/ guesses are in and then you read a reveal page.

   My friends and I are on our 5th year of doing an annual murder mystery party. We have tried many different packages and companies. Some have required us to improve (death nail in a party), or have required us to print everything off ourselves and figure it all out from downloads. Ace parties have become our absolute favorites! They are a bit adult in their humor but make all of us laugh A LOT. I love that they include a narrator, all instructions, party planning tips, recipes and even will give you suggestions on how to decorate. The scripts and clues are easy to follow and all make sense. We also really love that the games are for up to 10 players, though we have found it is much more fun to play with 8, because the “extra” characters are very obviously non-players/suspects. You can, however, give those roles to people who are unsure they can come, that way the party can still go on if they don’t show. I highly suggest any game by Ace. This particular pirate party was lots of fun. The costumes were easy to figure out and put together and the characters were hilarious. Argh!

   Bought this a few months ago and finally hosted the party. Either the game wasn’t all that well written or the alcohol made it confusing (or both). We did have a blast bc everyone got into character. Some of the dialog was confusing to read and frankly, I don’t think the script actually leads you to a conclusion for who committed the murder. It’s basically a guess. The clues seemed pretty random. If I hosted another, I would find a different brand.

    We had a good time but it was mainly because of the guests we chose. Unfortunately we found it very confusing and the instructions were very vague. You actually need at least 10 to do this because there are 8 actual suspects and 2 non-suspects who also have input.
