I love that it’s handmade. The black and gold contrast really well. The pieces have weight to them, and the board is beautifully designed. My only complaint is this, and no one else seems to mention it in their review, so perhaps I’m the first to experience it: black’s knights and one of black’s bishops have this nub coming out from under the pieces; this causes them to wobble while the other pieces sit firmly upon the board. I don’t want to peel the felt off the bottom of these pieces to try and reveal the problem. So I’d really appreciate if I could get replacement pieces for these three defective ones I’ve mentioned.

Warning: the craftsmanship on this product is trash- especially the cheaply made case… they case just keeps breaking in different places. It looked premium online, save yourself the disappointment and pick a different seller. It’s worth about $25- dumpster collectable

I loved the chessboard it’s very elegant. It didn’t have any weird or strong smell like other comments. The only thing is that it did have a small ding on the side of the chessboard where the wood was hit, and that’s why I gave it four starts instead of five, but it’s nothing that I would return it for other than that everything is super nice and elegant. The pieces are heavy and detailed.

Exquisite and beautifully crafted. The pieces have a wonderful weight to them and the board is intricately designed. The only issue I found was that the pieces came out of their holders during transport due to a lack of form fitting silhouettes. Also the case itself seems rather cheaply made, but the board and the pieces are exactly what I expected.

This product is horrible – no quality or pride of workmanship. Opened the box and it was all falling apart, back lining totally let go-ribbon to hold top to bottom lid , laying on the board unattached, gouges on board……..
