We have our original Dark Tower game from the 80’s. We love it, but it is the same game. The grandchildren will start on that one. This one has many variations. There are pieces you use for one scenario you pick and then you will use others for another. You learn to work together, but watch out for all the things going on. We had an awesome weekend sitting around playing this game and visiting. You did a great job upgrading the game and adding lots of new elements.

Nothing bad can be said about the game. The game play is fanstastic! It all goes back into the box that actually has instructions for everything to be placed. Fits perfectly. Unlike the original game from the 1981. My only complaint was the shipping. It was just placed into a box without any padding. It is a $200 dollar game and no protection when shipping. If this is how boardgamesweekly.com handles it, I will order from competitors for now on.

I got this for my parents for Christmas. They used to play the original all the time before I came along. I can’t wait to play this awesome sequel with them and my wife!

Love the game itself. I am disappointed because it requires 3 brand new batteries every time.

My kids and I have enjoyed fighting the tower, much as I did with the 1st Gen game. Lots of challenges and completely replayable.
Other than the price, a great purchase.

Highly recommended, but please BE SURE YOU HAVE AND iPAD! boardgamesweekly.com does not tell you that you need one in order to play, but you do. You cannot play the game at all in any way shape or form without an iPad or at the very, very least an iPhone or smart phone that downloads game app’s. My ONLY real critique about the game for the developers would be to create rewards for killing enemy monsters. In the game you get the same 2 spirit point reward for just simply cleaning a building of skulls (no risk) as killing any level high or low with creatures that can easily wipe out all your men. The game should have more rewards, treasure.
BEST GAME EVER! Verified Buyer –
I loved this game as a kid, so I had high expectations when I bought it. This meets and exceeds every expectation. The game play is great. The app used with the game keeps track of battles, dungeons, quests, etc. and that makes the game easy to play. Being able to change what enemies to fight gives endless gaming variations. I recently purchased the Covenant expansion set and the Dark Horde figurine set, and it makes gameplay even better. I highly recommend this game. It will give you hours of fun. The only downside is it’s a 4-player game (max). Other than that, I have no complaints!

Had the original Dark Tower game when I was a kid. I’m 57 now and miss the games I used to have. Board games now just aren’t as fun.

I have the original dark tower and this is a great addition to my game shelf. Played solo and with 2 then 4 players. Only played co-op thus far but everyone Ive played with ages 16 to 65 have picked up the rules quick and were good to play within the first 2 months of in game time so like 3 turns. Wish it was a bit cheaper and better on batteries 4AA batteries lasted 3 games. I will be grabbing all the expansions at some point. Good times

This may be my new favorite board game. I got it a few days ago and have already played 4 times. Everyone I have played with likes it and has glady played again. Very fun and challenging! Easy to learn, but requires careful strategy and cooperation to win! I love that they kept certain elements from the original game, including a competitive way to play that resembles the original game. There are so many possible combinations of quests, enemies, and bosses that keep this game replayable. The app will keep you on your toes, as you never know what challenges or rewards await. This game has surpassed my expectations! Oh and my tower does fine on batteries. You can easily get 2 1/2 to 3 games before needing to replace the batteries (we’re talking 2-3 hour games). Worth every penny, and I can’t wait to get the expansions!
