We enjoyed the combination of narrative adventure story and choosing your own path on the game board and engaging with the various characters and features.    We used to play mainly complex resource management games but the pandemic has made us crave less conflict and more stories. Which is just what this game delivers. It’s easy to get started with, the story is engaging, the game itself held our interest without being too difficult, and board game enthusiasts can enjoy the very clever design. We played all four characters as two players and thoroughly enjoyed all seven chapters. In a few months we’ll come back for another run through on the more challenging alternate storyline.

   I would love to see a sequel or another game in the same family; there is nothing else quite like it other than classic video games such as Steve Jackson’s Sorcery! For your reference we have also enjoyed Near and Far (not cooperative but very story-based), Spirit Island (also cooperative but much more complex). We couldn’t get into Legends of Andor (cooperative but with a weak story and repetitive gameplay) and greatly disliked Gloomhaven Jaws of the Lion (cooperative but solely about violent combat).

   Let me first say that the instructions are one page and take about 45 seconds to read. You learn while playing. Genius. The story is well thought out, it meshes with the game, you can play a chapter pretty quickly, and has a decent replay value with variation based on choices you make. The difficulty is right on the bubble so you usually win but not always. Given the story line, people actually want to get to the next chapter so this won’t collect dust on a shelf. We played a chapter every weekend day till we were done and we’re not hard core game people. High value for the money.

   This is a good cooperative family game. My 7 year old adored it. My 4 year old seemed a bit bored while we were playing, but when we finished he said he really enjoyed it and asked to play again tomorrow. I think it’s probably best for ages 6-7 and up, but younger kids can certainly join in if someone reads for them and they like the story/theme. It is based on the tale of Robin Hood, so keep that in mind when deciding if theme and content are appropriate for your family. The kids enjoy flipping over the secret tiles on the board, though I’m worried they are going to get destroyed as the cardboard isn’t the best quality. We also like the unique movement mechanic and the “draw a cube from a bag” combat. There is a hard cover chose your own adventure story that’s integral to gameplay. There isn’t a whole lot of player agency, the decisions are fairly obvious, and different choices don’t really have very different outcomes. If you like choose your own adventure stories this is fun. I don’t think it will have much replayability beyond one play through of the campaign, once you know the story the scenarios aren’t as interesting. I’m viewing it as a legacy game that can be reset. The rulebook teaches you the game while you play, which is nice and approachable. Overall we’re enjoying it. Just wish the component quality was better.

   First of all, “The Adventures of Robin Hood” is a campaign, legacy style game; this basically means that every time/session you play this game, the game board changes (some permanently), and the “story” of the game progress forward. Hence, this game is best experience with the same group of players (family, or a board gaming group), as they would have background of how the story was progressing along. The game components of this game is well made, and the game mechanics, and the story is well thought through. The story itself is very entertaining, and kept all the players (of all ages) engaged thru each gaming session. And this is a great game if you are looking for some quality family fun time with a board game. The game is rated for 10+, but I believed that it is totally playable/enjoyable for kids as young as 8. One of the best characteristic I like about this game is the “cooperative” nature, no matter what happens, the team comes out as winners (the bonding). Overall, it is a very high quality board game, high quality game pieces/components (even comes with a nice “book”), and good game play. Even though it is not cheap, I think it is worth the price. It may not be the absolute 10/10 board game, but it is pretty high up as 8 or 9, of all the board games I have (and I have a LOT of them).    Amazing interactive board. My kids 9 and 10 love it, especially flipped over tiles and the way the story unfolds. Had a minor glitch with a missing part but boardgamesweekly.com hooked me up with a replacement game 2 days later.

   I didn’t know much about “Robin Hood” but it was nice to learn about the heroe through this game.

   It is a great adventure game. By following the story, you will learn the rules of the game. If you have played “The Legend of Andor,” you know what I mean. From the middle of the story, things start to get very exciting. You should make good use of items so that luck will be on your side. You can play the game leisurely by yourself, or have fun with several people.

   Maybe I was unlucky, but the box was broken on the one I received. It’s a little disappointment, because the artwork on the box is very nice.

   Aside from that, the game is still very interesting.

    Really enjoy this game with our 8 year old. We’ve had a great time playing. I can see this having limited playability, but we are having a lot of fun with it. Nice progression of the game mechanics, fun story, and fun for all.

    We’re only on chapter 3, out of 8 (I think). But it’s proven to be fun to play. Rules are easy to understand. But when buying a new game I like to watch videos with people playing or explaining the game. That helped. But like I said, rules are easy to understand.
