   Sagrada is such a beautifully designed game, both in how it looks and how it plays. The concept of building your own stained-glass window with colorful dice is super creative, and it strikes a great balance between being relaxing and challenging. I love that every game feels different because of the variety of window patterns and objectives. It’s easy to learn but has enough strategy to keep it interesting, especially when you’re trying to plan ahead while other players take the dice you need. Plus, the game is just so pretty on the table, it’s a joy to play every time!

   This was the most fun new game I’ve played in a while, enjoyed by teens, young adults, and not-so-young parents. We loved it so much that when we gifted it in an exchange (and played it later that night at the same party), we immediately ordered our own set. The pieces are absolutely beautiful and well-constructed. Game play is balanced between individual strategy, other players’ decisions, and a little luck of the draw. Games are a good length (10 rounds for about 30-40 minutes total), and turns are quick enough that there’s not a lot of waiting on other people. Each game is a little different based on the objective and tool cards drawn for the duration of that game. It did seem like a lot of rules to absorb for the first time we played, but they were fairly intuitive and that just made us really eager to play game #2! One suggestion for players is to find a small flat tray to roll the dice into so that they can be slid to players who might not be able to reach/see them all. A suggestion for developers is that the (unnecessary?) numbers on the tool cards tried to confuse just about every person who we taught to play.

   My husband and I usually like more complicated games but I wanted a simple game so when we have people over we have some easier options. I love this game. It’s a lot of fun, very easy to teach and I like that you can change things up each game. It also looks great on the shelf!
