   The board is beautiful but let down by build quality. When removing the board from the box it was immediately apparent that the raised edges of the board were not properly glued or pinned in place as two of them pulled away from the edge of the board. Easily fixed with some superglue but I expected better build quality from a premium product at this price.

   Wow – the wood frame and letters, the felt that holds the pieces inside, the swivel base – it’s all well done. When they say “Deluxe” edition, they really do mean deluxe. The only thing not included is the latest scrabble dictionary, but you can order that online. We have an old scrabble board that we’ll keep for nostalgia, but this will be the one we play on. I like that the letters are kept aligned with ridges in the playing board. There are little colored arrows printed on the adjacent squares to the double- and triple- letter and word squares. This tells you the multiplier under placed letters if you forget while scoring your word. The game is big and heavy: for storage, plan on taking up some space on your game shelf, and probably not the top shelf.

   A nice higher end scrabble set. Looks beautiful and plays great. Tiles do not move around at all on board. However the negative is that the tiles are definitely lacking. Basically you can barely see the letters on some of the tiles. I have to turn on all the lights in the room to actually see the letters. Looking into buying a set of tiles as a replacement. I don’t really understand why they made such a great set but the tiles are subpar. The 20 scrabble board had better functional tiles.

   Bought this for a Birthday gift, recipient couldn’t be happier, arrived undamaged due to being extremely well packed, it’s well made, love the tile grids, handy when you give the board a good spin (none fall out)
   Beautifully presented, with score book, racks, tiles & bag stored under the lid.
   If I had to say anything negative, it would be the light weight tile racks, surprised me at how light they are … although it hasn’t affected playing the game … it’s a pleasure to play, and see enjoying playing Scrabble for many years ahead with it.

   I gave this board as a family gift to my daughter and her family for Christmas. That night they took it out and played it for four hours. They loved the fact that the table turned and the tiles did not move. It was a hit!!

    Love the quality and detail and the fact that it spins around for easy game play. The grooves keep tiles in place. Everything is stored inside. We keep it out on the table for spontaneous games.

    We just received our game, and it’s excellent! Very attractive, and the lazy susan and grid are game changers. The quality and craftsmanship, although not perfect, are worth every penny. 94% of reviews gave this game 4 stars or better for the other 6%, I would say invest in the Heirloom, Luxury, or Trophy versions or stick to the cardboard version, but nothing in large-scale assembly line production is perfect. Spending over $100 for the games seems steep, but this will be the last one we buy and will be handed down through the generations. I based this on the fact that our current cardboard set has been through two generations and is still in great shape. My cons (and both can be easily mitigated): 1. The tile holder on the new set is pretty dinky. We like the ones from our old set better. The fix: we will swap and stain the old holders for the new ones. 2. The lazy-susan, which is great, is ball bearings on hard plastic. The movement is smooth but not as quiet as if nylon was used. I have an easy fix for this as well.

    This board is big enough but not too big. It’s a beautiful color of wood and super easy to use and play with. The lazy Susan on the bottom really helps everyone get the best view of the board. It is also super easy to transport from one room to another.

    My husband and I play a lot of games. By a lot, I mean a lot. We had a regular scrabble board but I kept kicking my husband’s rear end. For some reason he felt like if we bought a nicer board he would do better. Who was I to argue? He really doesn’t ask for much, so I bought the board. The board came, and we unpackaged it. The board is beautiful but the bag for the tiles is a bit small. I had an idea. We went straight to the liquor store and bought a bottle of crown Royale. We quickly swapped the tiles over to the beautiful new bag. I highly recommend this step as the crown bags seem to have been made with scrabble in mind. We began doing shots and laying down words. My husband hasn’t beat me in a game in two weeks, and wouldn’t you know it he finally won. He was right. All it took was a fancy board and he was once again a champion. Come to find out that stinker had been tricking me with the shots. I drank about 3/4 of that bottle all by myself. I fell right into his trap and spent most of the night dancing around the kitchen and laughing. He spent the whole night beating me at scrabble. Either way, it was a great night.

    I was very concerned about the hefty price tag, but this amazing board did NOT disappoint. In the first photo, I have the board up at almost a 90 degree angle and the tile stayed… not for long, but it stayed for a few seconds. Try THAT with any regular Scrabble set. Another great amenity is the ability to spin the board. We were so used to not being able to do that, that we kept forgetting we could, but once we remembered more, it definitely shortened the length of the game because it’s so much easier to see the board right side-up. It is so great to have a special version of a game that never goes out of style which our family can cherish for years to come.
