   Walk the Dogs is an awesome game. The object is to get several of the same dog breed together in your line. You add dogs by taking from the beginning or end of the central dog line. There are special cards that allow you to take from other players. Once someone gets 5 of the same dog breed in a row, the game ends and they WIN! Or… once all the dogs in the central dog line have been taken, the game ends and points are given to determine the winner. A guide is supplied for assessing points. Also, clear game play instructions are included. This game has the potential of strategy for older kids, but yet can satisfy the younger ones too. The strategy comes in when the choice has to be made as to which dog to take when the cards in your hand show that you can take from the front end of the central dog line, or the back end. They need to see what the other players are collecting, so that they can work defensively by perhaps choosing the dog that would keep someone else from building their collection. Also, a decision could be made by checking to see which dogs will be coming up for the taking. Smaller kids might not use rationale, but just take one from one end or the other without thought. That’s okay too. This is an easy game to modify to meet the needs of the age that is playing it. For instance, for younger children, instead of keeping dogs all in one line, they could just keep each breed together and build different breeds. The quality of the game is great. Even the box is substantial. The dogs are well-made and may end up around the house, because the kids will want to play with them outside of the game. 🙂 I feel that the game is a little pricey, but it is due to the quality of the game, and the amount of pieces (dogs). It’s still a good value. I recommend!

   My husband and I had fun playing this game with our grandchildren who are 7 and 4. We are looking forward to playing it again with our other grandchildren who are 6 year old twins. Since the game involves a bit of strategy, I think teens will enjoy it as well.

   We love this game. The whole family plays. Easy to learn, set up takes a bit but we really do enjoy it. I have a 7 year old and a 10 year old (who loves dogs) and they both really enjoy the game. There is some strategy involved. Also not torture for parents to play like some kid game.

    I purchased these as an addition to helping my daughter, learn patterns and adding. I didn’t realize that this game would become one of her and my favorites to play multiple times a day.. and she even loves just lining up the dogs.
    The only downfall I would say, is, the amount of dogs. I think if it’s just 2 people playing way too much, you’ll have to figure out a way to cut the amount of dogs in half and still have equal amounts of each breed. Because there is an overly large amount of dogs.
