Fantastic game! Played it at a convention and had to have it. The expected delivery date was 5-8 days but I received it within 2 (on a Sunday no less!) My only real issue with it is the smell of the book reminds of me those freshly printed yearbooks and it’s pretty strong so sitting with it for longer than an hour gives me a headache. I have it sitting open in my garage to “air” it out. Can’t wait to start my own game. Definitely worth the buy.

I was a bit hesitant about buying this. Star Trek RPGs in the past have failed to grab me. This one is different. It’s full of fast and delightful mechanics that work well and help make the game feel like your in the Star Trek universe.
It’s not a zero to hero game in the traditional D&D style. You can play characters that have been through Star Fleet academy. They are highly trained and confident, but they can still learn something new.
Modiphius continues to support this game. There are some great supplements out and there is a free “living” campaign.
I can highly recommend this, but if your not sure then take a look at some actual play videos on youtube and see how it runs.

This book is for you because it is wall to wall text.
If you are familiar with star tree’s computer screens on TNG, the whole book is designed like that. The white and yellow text on the black background are easy on the eyes. The purple texts get hard to focus on. I’ve seen YouTube comments saying it is difficult to read with color blindness.
That aside, the game is really good. The character building has more steps than dungeons & Dragons but that is because you are building a character more for a story rather than a math equation parading as a murder hobo. But if murder hobo is what you want, go buy the Klingon rule book. Same system but written in the perspective of Klingons and encourages you to kill aliens on strange planets.

This is a very well made and beautiful book. The rules are not terribly complicated and even easier to learn when combined with watching people play the game on youtube in Shield of Tomorrow, Clear Skies, and Blood of the Void (Klingon Campaign). Tons of history about the Federation and many other cultures as well as ships, weapons, equipment and everything else you need to know to play the game. Great binding, glossy pages, it is a full size hardcover book despite what the measurements say in the description, which is even better. If you know quality book when you see one, you will not be disappointed. Even if you don’t play the game this book is still a fascinating read full of Star Trek lore and interesting tidbits. I highly recommend. Well worth the cost especially from boardgamesweekly.com.
