Each piece is wrapped in a about 2 ft of bubble wrap so 32 pieces took my gf and i some time to unwrap. Amazing care there. The pieces are sturdy material. The negative spaces inside the king and queen make me wonder how they make them, too detailed to cast in a mold. 3D printed maybe? Good pieces at a good price point either way

The chess pieces had a bad smell to them. They also come with just plastic around, so when they are stored together they chip very easily. It was a disappointment as they were fairly pricey and I hoped would make a great gift.
