If you’ve played Stuffed Fables, this is very much like that, though I would say for an older crowd (12+ rather than 8+). The rulebook is a bit vague; I ended up watching the watch it played by Geek and Sundry which was much more helpful. Painting the minis is easy (good sculpts), except for the cat (bigger isn’t always better!).

The models in this are amazing. The concept is so cute. Its really a phenomenal game but it can be hard to learn and there is a definite learning curve. Fortunately a ton of websites offer altered or explained rules to make jumping in easier. Definitely worth getting. Its so adorable.

I play this game with my 11 yo and 10 yo boys. Lots of fun, great push-your-luck type of game play, unique/innovative card system, great art, and a engaging story. Understanding the rules is the hardest part, for sure. You’ll be spending time going to BGG to search the forums for the numerous situations that the rules don’t explain. Still, loads of fun and a great value. Would recommend to others.
