   Quality wood pieces, not cheap plastic stuff. Board is very nice as well. The doors slide though so it’s not very portable, but that’s not why I bought it.

   ELEGANTLY HANDSOME, boasting an old “faux leatherette” red and black checkered chessboard atop an authentic and striking painted wood Chinese-themed legged-box containing 2 drawers for its tiny chess pieces, this IADU travel chess set comes to its owner brandishing protective brass corners and straplets. I was amazed at how this chessboard is so perfectly and well constructed. What a delight to then discover how intricately made are its chess pieces. Apparently some reviewers in the past were not fully satisfied with this product BUT what I see before me (see photos) is exactly what IADU offers and has so completely described as to what to expect. Kudos to IADU’s designers, and indeed the entire IADU crew for such a delightful creation. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed!

   I loved this I got it for my father. He adored it only problem is we found it difficult to tell the “bishop” piece apart from the king&queen pieces. Otherwise the pieces have a beautiful finish on the board is gorgeous. A little on the smaller side but not an issue

   This product is super cheap construction. Definitely not worth the 53 I paid. More like 13. No craftsmanship whatsoever. Thin veneer, pieces for chessboard are plastic. The item arrived with a dent in the top of the chessboard. Seller responded this was boardgamesweekly.com’s issue and to reach out to them. I would not recommend this at even a half star, but in order to submit this product review I have to at least select 1. Terrible quality, terrible service. I have bought many many products and items thru boardgamesweekly.com. This is the first in many years that I have been sorely disappointed with the product and the price.

   I honestly should have read the dimensions before I bought it. That’s on me. But design wise it’s so small it’s almost impossible to play. Beautiful, so it’s very nice decrotivly. But if you want like a functioning chess set, just stick to old school. I wish I did.

   This is an excellent item for what it is. It’s neither ridiculously tiny nor too large to carry around. It looks pretty decent for the price and is not cheap-looking. This was a pretty decent purchase. It is probably not great for carrying it around without a bag around it due to the drawers easily being able to open. I would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a unique yet traditional chess set that is interesting.

   I was struck by how beautiful this set was when I opened the box, it will go over well for Christmas. I don’t know why people are complaining about the size, the seller clearly puts up the dimensions in the description. I’m very pleased.
