There is a great deal of information here to build from. If you want a skeleton, ghoul, vampire, lich, mummy, ect there are many variations of each and stories to use or take inspiration from. Thank you Nord Games!

The artwork isn’t very dynamic or detailed, with most creatures just facing forward and taking on one of only a handful of similar poses seen throughout the book. Not all of it is color and a lot of the book is just variants of the same creatures, with little inspiring or fresh ones. Not so much unique zombies with interesting abilities as “This zombie is an dwarf.” For the most part it’s all just pictures of humanoid zombies in slightly different medieval clothing standing purposelessly in the middle of a blank space on the page. If you want stat blocks though, they have you covered. Or if you want artwork of like 30 different hunched over, naked, brown thrall-like creatures then this is probably your jam. My personal opinion? It’s not great compared to other third party monster manuals. It’s well put together and the cover art is great, but it falls flat quickly upon opening it. I do not consider it a good use of money to be honest, as I do not see myself ever using the content of this book, even for an undead campaign, because it is so plain and unimaginative. It will probably just get pushed to the back of my shelf and collect dust next to Mordenkainen.

A well structured and organized bestiary on undead themed creatures. Has an entertaining story woven throughout the book showcasing examples of how each creature type could be encountered. Optional rules for allowing players to play characters that are of various undead races. As a DM running a current campaign in a Ravenloft setting this book has been a great resource for throwing some curve balls at my players to give them encounters with what they thought were traditional run of the mill undead with some unexpected twists to them that this book added. Most everything in this book should have been in the MM by default imo(sad WoTC couldn’t be bothered to do so), I’d say my group considers this a must have book on par with any core rule book for D&D 5e.

A great book for any DM that wishes to spice up their zombie hordes!

There’s nothing in this book you don’t get from a 5e monster manual. The art isn’t even particularly impressive. Most egregious is that it is styled in such a way that it looks similar at a glance to a larger publication. A nice grift. Time to start a return. Do yourself a favor, don’t get this one.
At least the book didn’t fall apart.

I loved that it came in a sealed plastic wrap. No damage to the corners or binder.

Great book! The monsters are well balanced and will work great for a horror/evil campaign. What the description didn’t say is that it gives you race stat blocks in the back for a playable character. Loved the art, the feeling of dread reading the info, and overall feel of the book. Highly recommend!
