The only thing that I know about this book is that my 16 year old was very happy when he opened it.

I use this as a plan B if my players/dice do something stupid, and would end their game too quickly. This allows to quickly add more pcs into on going game, with handy notes to guide playing.

As a somewhat lazy Dungeonmaster, I’m always on the lookout for premade NPC characters to drag drop into my games. Unfortunately the sphere has a lot of crappy product. I’ve spent way too much on generic characters that look like they were generated by AI. But not this book! I can easily say the characters in this book are the most ‘Game-ready’ I have seen. Balanced, fully fleshed out characters with believeable ideals, bonds and flaws. And multiple stat blocks so I can customize them to fit any challenge rating! Yes, the book is expensive, but it’s worth it, I only wish they had more.

Couldn’t be happier. The book is in PERFECT condition. Thank you!

As a Dungeon Master, this has helped and given me fuel for homebrew campaigns that I wouldn’t have thought of otherwise.
As a player, I’ve stolen character ideas from the book. “Dang that be a cool concept to play as.”
Also the all the flavor stuff *chef kiss* noice.

There are quite a few NPCs in the book and some of them are pretty fun but it just left me wanting more based on the way the book is described in the listing.

I’ve been looking for an npc “monster manual” for awhile and to think ones been right under my nose from you guys this whole time is crazy. Exactly what I wanted. skullduggery is already ordered and on its way I liked this book so much. Now I just wish youd reprint your shops book.

I bought this book, because I wanted to fill my 5E mercenary camp with some quick character sketches and stats. My husband’s warlock was going to trigger–and try to survive–a bawl. This supplement gave me everything I needed; its last 30 pages have random encounter tables arranged by character type and challenge rating. But by the time I’d finished reading the book, I’d decided to change the brawl to a full-on war, just so my husband’s warlock could meet all thirty of the characters that the earlier part of the supplement describes in detail. These characters vary in background, class, and alignment. Each one has stats for 1st, 4th, 8th, 12th, 16th and 20th level. The writers also supply little vignettes about these guys, where some characters even interact with one another. Some of the characters are more complex than others. The dwarven smith savant and the prophetic healer are a little closer to stock fantasy than the paladin who follows her congregation through the war camps, or a grave robber who gives last rites to the bodies he strips. But what this book accomplishes is a community of NPCs–and for someone who likes character-driven campaigns, that makes this book a must-have. Well done.
