   I really enjoyed my time with Alchemists! I will say it has a bit of a steep learning curve – and you really do want the mobile app. That being said the game is very enjoyable and fun; it has a bit of mystery (formulas), a bit of strategy(placement, what to buy etc), and a lot of interaction with the other players at the table!

   I was introduced to this board game a while a go and it took some time for me to actually purchase it with me being unable to buy it from my LGS (Local Game Store).
   Me and my partner have played this a number of times now and we have a lot of fun each time! The game is visually appealing and the [optional] use of your smartphone to play is a great addition (Think the XCOM board game).
   There are a few downsides. We both felt that 6 rounds is not enough for the game to come to a fair conclusion. If you have never played Alchemists before, you’re not going to know that you’re going to have to start investing heavily pretty much straight away. This judgement has been made by only having two people playing so game length may be better with more people playing. Secondly, some aspects of the game don’t ever seem to be advantageous. We noticed that we just were not using them. Again, this may be something that would be improved with more players.
   Overall, this game is fantastic. If you like science, problem solving and working out processes of elimination, then this is a game you’re going to love!

   I really enjoyed this game. It worked great with app and it is a lot of fun to forage reagents, combine them, see what type of potion you can make, and then use the grid to work backwards to determine the makeup of each reagent. The only pet peeve I had about this game was that the publishing and debunking of theories was a little confusing at first and I wish they would have explained a little more in detail how everything works or shown a few more examples. This game is really fun, the process of elimination to figure out the results is fun, experimenting on your intern/self/adventurer is fun, I love the artwork/layout/pieces that are included, and reading the instructions is entertaining (jokes included). Every time we play the game, we get better at figuring out each reagent makeup is that changes every game.

   This game is awesome with a lot of attention to detail. It is very involved though so you need plenty of time to play.

   Alchemist è un gioco di deduzione gestito tramite una meccanica worker placement. Come la maggior parte di questi giochi sembra inizialmente un po confuso per le regole specifiche di ogni lavoro; però dopo un turno o due tutto scorre fluido, senza vuoti nel regolamento. Una parte davvero pregevole è l’ironia insita nell’ambientazione modellata sul mondo accademico.
