This set is really excellent! I found all of the pieces to be instantly distinguishable (sometimes it’s not clear which piece is the bishop and which piece is the knight in these themed sets), and the detail and style of the set is also really impressive. Being that I’m a longtime fan of media centered around horror and the occult, I felt that I needed a set like this, and I wasn’t disappointed in the way that the set paid tribute to the lore of these monsters. The vampires are all depicted as being more civilized with some resembling an ugly Nosferatu-type look and others being the more popular handsome variety, and the werewolves are all much more bestial. The chess board is very nice as well, as it is decorated with Wiccan imagery, and pieces seem to float above the table when they sit on clear spaces.

The set came in tightly packed styrofoam. The glass chess board does not have any scratches and has a good thickness. The chess pieces and end holders are beautiful with a lot of detail. One of the wolf pawns was missing some silver on the bottom but that’s a minor fix. I got this for my dad and he loves it. Great buy for a good price.

Admittedly a little disappointed with this, the set I received wasnt entirely reflective of the product image where certain decals were missing from the board that were shown in the ad, some of the pieces are somewhat poorly finished and the board itself, shows specks of hardened material, that which is used to make the chequered pattern, which is a massive frustration when cleaning as it seems you’ve always missed a spot.
